Now that we're out of the FFP embargo not sure we should be taking the loan route again; rather we ought to be building a team for the future. However if Khan's cash is tight then guess needs must. And take your point about Celtic in particular SuperBri and your earlier shout on their midfielder, Stefan Johansen.
The problem with this is that it was not a transfer it was an out of contract player talking to another club Fulham would not have part of any talks involving Celtic so would not be in a position to put any pressure on at all,
Another bites the dust - Glen Murray has gone to Brighton. Wouldn't be overly bothered as said in my 'verdict' in the original post - "slow and age not on his side". Only mild concern is that the opposition are not wasting time and just hope we don't get caught short.
My understanding is because of his age Dembele was not a free agent. But I think Celtic still have to pay a nominal fee for Dembele because of his age and youth record with us. So some sort of negotiations and partnership could have been forged.
Sky Sport are saying the two Championship clubs are in talks with Berba please log in to view this image And his wife has tweeted that she'll welcome "being back home"!
The good news is that FC Copenhagen have bought a replacement for Tom Delaney so, despite having 1 year left on his contract, he's obviously on the move. The not so good news is that, according to a report, despite having met with Slavi (and Rigg!) last week, he's now talking to Watford. And they are prepared to stump up £3m for him. Source: http://sportwitness.co.uk/player-visits-watford-fulham-boss-met-last-week/?
Reports say Pierluigi Gollini is going to Aston Villa. And if the price quoted (£4.25m) is correct well, there you go ... don't think we're that desparate.
We are just not attractive enough it seems. players turning us down. Hey ho, at least we've got last seasons squad.......wait a minute!
A few updates from the world of twitter sphere..... Our reported interest in Denis Odoi has now apparently got stronger with reports that he has met up with the squad in Ireland and will undergo a medical today, obviously with the Fulham medical we may hear something on this in a few weeks time. The Sone Aluko rumours have gathered pace as well with a medical also mentioned. The one thing I do know is Aluko, Odoi and Ayite will bring pace to the side
Would be very happy to see us get Aluko. Seen quite a bit of him when he was at rangers and he was one of our best players for the short time he was up here. Think hes had his injury problems since then but if fully fit we could be getting a right good player.
The Odoi deal looking more and more like a done deal, the Lokeren official supporters Twitter account have stated he has agreed a 3 year deal and is just pending the medical, a copy of this tweet has also been put on FC Lokerens official website! Everything I can find on him is that he is a right back who can also play left though last season he played the whole season at left back in a Lokeren team that finished in the top half of the Belgium premier league. He has 3 Belgium u21 caps and one full cap a few years back. Apparently he is an attacking full back who is quite pacy!
Must be correct that he's signing Cookie - the local paper have the story. They are hyping him quite a lot as well: "Reports rate Odoi's athleticism as well as jumping ability at set pieces, and wonder why he has missed out on a top move in the past." please log in to view this image Here's a link to their full write up: http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...lham-set-sign-belgian-international-11582854?
Not totally convinced about these Aluko rumours nor about the player himself. please log in to view this image The 27yr old (really?) Nigerian played 25 League games for Hull last season; in 17 he came on as a sub and in the other 8 he was subbed in 6 of them. That's not a lot of game time! Guess given where we are right now and the fact he's on a free somebody in the Club might take the risk.
And just when, for once, things seemed to be going okay along come Belgian side FC Gent who say they'd quite fancy him. As this article says, "A Twist in the Tail" https://www.voetbalkrant.com/nl/nie...dingkaa-gent-wil-denis-odoi-er-heel-graag-bij Could think of another way of putting it ... and probably will do if M Rigg doesn't pull this one off!
Pleased with Aluko, as i mentioned above. Hopefully the start of a flurry of new faces coming in over the next couple of weeks.
Need to sign Odoi now and although it's looking more and more unlikely I'm desperate to get Handley in, I know it's not happening but he is just what we need in this division.
