If Les was out there talking to Rojo's representatives, you would think he'd only go out personally if a deal was getting close. I highly doubt Reed went all the way out to Portugal, not offer enough,for it to get rejected and he just returns home.
I doubt very much whether that was the final bid. It's called negotiation. And being there in person is of course the right way to impress both player and club with your serious intentions.
Yeh that's a fair point. Getting quite excited about this one! I would sooner he was worded as a CB for us and not a high profile left-back. I would be happy with Bertrand on the left and Fonte and Rojo in the middle. If he is really brought in to play LB then I can't see Targett getting much game time. But then again it's not Championship Manager so I'll let Koeman decide lol.
I would take a club so much more seriously and consider their offers if they were made to me in person as opposed to over the phone or by email. I definitely think that Les Reed has done the right thing - lets just hope that he gets the outcome we all want.
Think Rojo would be a good option, not only for his ability, but because he can cover two positions. Should Bertrand get injured and Targett not be quite ready, Rojo would slot in fine. We would need another central defender though. I'd be very happy with both Dijk and Rojo.
True, but with Fonte and Rojo we'd have Yoshida and Hooiveld as back up. In my opinion we need to sign two players at centre back.
