TBH after the last few weeks it's just bloody nice to be linked WITH players again. Not just the random wheel of transfers being spun every morning re a Saints player.
Tadic would be good. Essential if Adam buggers off. Upgrade? if Gaston escapes.

 

To be honest we're going to constantly be linked with Dutch players for the foreseeable future.

Just like when we had MP and we were constantly linked with players from Spain, where he previously managed.

 

How about:

"Southampton FC in swoop for want-away-striker Robin Van Persie. RVP is understood to be keen on a switch to the progressive south coast side."

or

"Arjen Robben has issued a come-and-get-me plea to new Saints boss Ronald Koeman, begging to be released from his German nightmare."

 

Shaqiri bring linked to Liverpool. Bad luck Adam.

 

He's been linked for weeks. Although his performance last night may well have convinced Liverpool to go for him.

 

That's a link which has been on and off for a good while. Got to be truth in it. I was thinking he wasn't doing himself any favours with his inconsistent performances and lack of defensive work, but last night must have done wonders for his demand. If for Liverpool it's a case of Lallana or Shaqiri, you'd have to think the asking prices for both players would lean them towards Shaqiri.

 

More like out-priced Liverpool.

 

It's "close" according to Gianluca Di Marzio. Doesn't mean it's definitely going to happen of course, but I'd say it's a good deal more likely than the Lallana transfer at the moment.

There you are Adam, if you'd only gone and scored 3 goals against Uruguay, Liverpool would have upped their bid for you. You only have yourself to blame if it falls through now.

 

I certainly don't think they'll be going for Lallana and Shaquiri. Spurs have no need for Lallana so, on that basis, we might be stuck with him!

 

Starting to think we will be. He's obviously been wanting a move away, but I don't think that means he'll be gutted to still be here. We know he likes it in Southampton, even if he feels he might like being in Liverpool even more. I'd like to be in Fiji, but that doesn't mean I don't like being in St Albans.

Hopefully he'll have an encouraging meeting with Koeman and get some renewed enthusiasm for Saints.

 

If he stays, I just hope that there won't be any knobs in the crowd booing him.

 

They'll do a puff-piece before the season starts where he says he always wanted to stay and it will all be forgotten.

Maybe the question was do you want to play with champions league players?

He's just replied honestly saying just because your in the champions league doesn't mean they have great players maybe. He's trying to not rule him self out being with Southampton or moving to another team that may or may not be in the champions league.
