Ah my bad, you're quite right, he did indeed.

Got a free kick strike on him too. Could be a decent Rickie-replacement when it comes to that!

Would really like Van Dijk, and at 22 he can only get better. Another CB I like the look of is Kouyate of Anderlecht, some sources are saying West Ham are close to signing him. Would irk me if they got their grubby mitts on him!

    According to LTL he has.

EDIT: OK, LTL admits to error.

So we're potentially 'doing a Liverpool' to Celtic? But I'm guessing that's okay, and we're allowed to do that!? :)

Well...Van Dijk joined them in June and Wanyama left in July. They might have met.

So, has Celtic become a new Southampton feeder club..? Makes a lot of sense, even if it is slightly disrespectful to say it.

Isn't it delightful to be hearing rumours of players coming IN rather than scrabbling to get to the exit door first. Let the summer begin!

But you see what I mean..?

Big club, attracts very, very good players because of it's position in Scottish football, and ability to get into Champions League, but can't pay them huge wages or give them Premier League football.

Well we can do the last thing, and if we get enough of the best, we may be able to do the CL thing, at some point. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. <doh>

It is going to keep happening, yeah. Not just to Celtic, but also to other teams who are top dog in their league but whose league just isn't that good. The top Dutch teams suffer the same way every summer. Olympiacos got themselves a quality striker who scored a ton of goals, so they lost him to Fulham. Molde had Mats Daehli, so they lost him to Cardiff. Any time we think one of these players is good enough for us, we'll go for him.

Only problem is these players probably see these moves as stepping stones. They'll want to be back in the CL eventually.

The Sunday Times report that we've rejected another bid for Luke Shaw from Manchester United.

If we're targeting European football, why not bring in players with CL experience?

I'd be amazed if Koeman didn't look to Guidetti an inexpensive squad play with potential to be top class. His record at Feyenord (admittedly before a nasty injury and a strange loan spell at Stoke) was fantastic and he'd offer very simiolar qualities to a young Ricky Lambert if he get's back to that level.

Obviously, don't know how much the injury has affected him but I'd be more than happy taking that risk for a couple of million.
