Not saying we will, but it'll be interesting to see if we buy any players from this World Cup. Considering we have to rebuild our whole attack almost, might be some players on display we could capture. De Vrij for €9m wouldn't be a bad buy either

Well you can't really blame Dejan if he leaves for Barcelona! There's going to be a huge array of CB talent on show over the next month. I hope our scouts are watching.

If we get Koeman, he will be able to tap into the best of the Dutch youngsters and if Dejan goes to Barcelona we ought to get a better price for him.

I guess most of Europe is trying to work out which Dutch players they can buy now. We might have a chance.

I'm sure the rumours of players coming here will increase once the new manager is appointed, but the world cup gives us all a chance to do a little scouting with matches on free to air TV. The board have promised money to spend and the budget could increase if we sell one or two stars. Here is a kind of World cup catalogue so far. (some might be out of our reach already, but i've avoided listing the really obvious players out of reach)

Anyone else caught the eye so far?

Valuations are from transfermarkt.com and just a guide

    Jasper Cillessen - GK - Netherlands - 25 - AJAX - 4.4m
    Stefan De Vrij - CB - Netherlands - 22 - Feyenoord - 5.2m
    Bruno Martins Indi - CB - Netherlands - 22 - Feyenoord - 5.2m
    Daley Blind - LWB - Netherlands - 24 - Ajax - 5.3m
    Ante Rebic - LW - Croatia - 20 - Florentina - 4m
    Carlos Sanchez - CDM - Colombia - 28 - Elche CF - 2.2m
    Juan Cuadrado - RW - Colombia - 26 - Florentina - 21m
    Cristian Rodriguez - LW - Uruguay - 28 - Atletico Madrid - 4.4m
    Keylor Navas - GK - Costa Rica - 27 - Levante - 3.5m
    Joel Campbell - FW - Costa Rica - 21 - Arsenal - 4.4m (loan)
    Wilfried Bony - ST - Cotes d'ivoire - 25 - Swansea - 14m
    Didier Drogba - ST - Cotes d'ivoire - 36 - Free Agent - V.High Wages
    Honda - AM - Japan - 28 - AC Milan - 15m
    Shinji Kagawa - AM - Japan - 25 - Man Utd - 15m

I would love Joel Campbell here but I think Arsenal will give him a shot next season. Looked good for club and country. Similar style number 10 to Stirling.

might not be the obvious ones though. it might be kids that hadn't already broken through at feyenoord.

he managed Pelle at AZ with little success and later brought him to Feyenoord, instant success. Not a kid I know, but an example of how he might know of a player to do the job that we wouldn't know about.

Liverpool and Man Utd both appear to be cooling on their respective bids for Lallana and Shaw. Supporters too. So maybe they will still be saints players next season. Our hardball strategy might just have paid off. With Koeman allegedly being unveiled as manager this week, that's not such a bad outcome for the players concerned either.

Van Dijk, Celtic CB, linked with a move in the Sun today. Claim Koeman is a big fan, and we scouted him earlier in the season.

Utd in for Blind, apparently. Didn't look at the source, so big grain of salt.

    Called it.

I mean it was a pretty obvious one, but I'm going to take all credit for this.

This would not surprise me at all. Having listened to the Les Reed interview it sounds like we have a list of scouted players and that list will be shared with the new manager. Van Dijk would be a great first addition.
