Must say, I love what Villa is doing. There's risk in signing so many young players (especially when they were already one of the youngest teams in the Prem), but if they keep Benteke and Weimann there will be an awful lot of talent in that squad.

I'd like us to sign Weimann. Been saying it a while.

Yeah. But if Benteke signs for big money and things go wrong, they have a lot of lottery tickets on low wages...presumably they're able to pay down some of their debts now, which is a much better set of circumstances than they were facing a year ago.

I've realised, we've not yet had anybody take on an avatar of either Banega or Wanyama. It worked with Ramirez, so why is nobody helping this time? (let's just forget Astori).

Jay Rodriguez is a much better prospect that Weimann in my opinion. I don't really understand all the fuss about Weimann to be honest! His first touch at times is poor, he isn't very creative and his finishing is often wayward. All he does is run a lot. I know he is young, but j-rod is much better.

Wiemann is a decent player but I would not consider him to be an improvement on Rodriguez.
Liverpool look set to sign winger Atsu from Porto. Could cool there interest in Mkhitaryan if they hold on to Suarez.

Alan Nixon seems pretty confident that we will land Wanyama. Says all three sides are pretty happy and what he heard today was positive as to a deal to take him from Celtic, to Southampton.

So we now have a choice between Cork, Schneiderlin and Wanyama for DCM. Just need Banega to challenge Ramirez and Davis for the ACM now.

Having them both could be great :)

Im so excited at the prospect of us getting Wagamuffin! I to be honest have only seen him in a few games (mainly CL) and on YouTube <whistle> But he looks so strong/mobile/direct! He does remind me of a Yaya Toure. Victor has received alot of hype this season and if he lives up to the hype we have go a player on our hands! <party>
