After such a great season last year he's been somewhat disrespected in the way he's been used and I'm hearing a return to London with Fulham maybe on the cards. Really hope that's tosh.
Cork is a quality player...we could pay a lot of money to replace him and then have to settle the new player in. It's alright saying we have other players, but someone could sustain a serious injury at any time. Would never have expected him to be surplus to requirements this season.
Wasn't massive fan until last season, but he was absolute class especially in the second half of the season after injury. His stats were some of the best in the league and Europe right alongside Morgan, so I really can't understand why hes been dropped for jwp.
He hasn't been dropped for JWP, he's been dropped for Wanyama. JWP is playing in the attacking 3. Personally I think he should be playing ahead of Wanyama. Much steadier influence on the game and works better with Morgan.
JWP played most of saturday, and half of the previous saturday alongside Wanyama. I think Cork should be at least on the bench for next game as he is quality, but I don't think he is ever going to surpass schneiderlin or wanyama ability-wise.
Once this transfer window is over I think Nicola needs to take some time and carefully rethink the club's scouting and transfer policy and the people involved with it as we have made some very suspect and expensive purchases and wasted a lot of money. If I was Katharina I would be spitting blood at this moment. Nicola will not want bad decisions and poor advice from others to weaken his hand next time he discusses the transfer budget with Katharina.
Would appear that what we have is what we'll have. So that means that the squad for this year will be: Goalkeepers - Boruc, Davis, Gazzaniga. Fullbacks - Clyne, Shaw, Chambers, Fox. Centrebacks - Lovren, Yoshida, Fonte, Hooiveld. Central mids - Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Cork, Davis, Ward-Prowse. Attacking mids - Lallana, Ramirez, Isgrove. Forwards - Lambert, Osvaldo, Rodriguez, Guly. Heh, as Shaw, Chambers, Ward-Prowse, Isgrove and Gazzaniga will qualify as Under 21s, we'll have a potentially-unprecedented seven open roster spots.
Thank god we still have Guly and Cortese hasn't buckled to the pressure coming from Old Trafford to sign him.
Double-checked...assuming that none of the other first-team players are moved on, we'll equal Everton circa 2011-12 for the smallest submitted squad since the new squad restrictions came into being.
Should Sharp not be shipped out, it'll be interesting to see if we include him in the list. Surely we would? No harm in doing it whatsoever, and we could still then loan him out if we wanted. Better that than not include him, and then in three weeks time (yes, unlikely I know) have Lambert get a serious injury and Osvaldo a straight red card.
Wouldn't surprise me if we listed all of them, if they do not find homes...last year's submitted squad included Butterfield, Dickson, Forte and Seaborne, for want of anything to do with those spaces.
If they're still here, it's part of the rules they have to be submitted (providing we still have space ofc)
Well, I wanted a RB as cover, before the Sunderland game... maybe MP is considering pushing a few more youngsters into the fray ...... ..... should the situation become dire. I wanted us to sign one or two more players, but that doesn't stop me wanting those fringe players not considered, from being sold.
