No arguments with that, I still think we're lacking in terms of wingers though, so bringing someone in to replace Puncheon would be my wish for deadline day. I appreciate it's not Pochettino's style to play with genuine wide players, but even the best centre-heavy teams like Man City can see the need to buy someone like Jesus Navas to stretch the play occasionally and give them another option. Someone like Sinclair would have provided that I think, and a player of that ilk would be good I think.
For the first half of last season, our full-backs (Shaw particularly) didn't overlap. Since Pochettino has arrived, they have both pushed beyond opposing full backs. I believe that MP will use full backs for the width this season. It was glaring obvious to me that our full-backs needed to push further forward and beyond our wide midfielder and opposing full-backs.
Exactly this, The way we tend to play, left footed on right, and right footed on left, when those players cut inside, the clynes and shaws become valuable as they offer the overlap. I have a feeling we will see more of Gaston on the right now. Cannot wait for saturday, do we think Osvaldo will start.......
Gary Neville mentioned this on MNF, very few teams play with RB/LB's in the modern day premier league, Shaw/Clyne for example are more like wingers! Think of other prem teams and there are quite a few pairings who are similiar. Zabaleta/Clichy for example.
having been to the Bernabeu this summer, I can confirm a shirt with Bale's name on the back would be â¬95 in fact (â¬95!!!), so yeah a million shirts need to be sold!
I'm not seeing much evidence of that. One is just about to become the most expensive player in history for a start... Yeah and the club probably doesn't get half of the value of each shirt sale, so it I don't expect them to anywhere near recoup the cost just through shirt sales!
Newcastle United and Southampton scouts were spotted in Slovenia yesterday to watch the PrvaLiga match between Maribo and Viktoria Plezen and according to the Daily Mail, the players of their radars were Maribor duo Agim Ibraimi and Goran Cvijanović
I recognise this sentence as English, but so many of those words are weird and unfamiliar to me that I did a double take.
Nicolas Anelka has reportedly walked out of training and told Baggies staff he's retiring. EDIT: Too slow.
What!!!? Seriously!? How funny. In other news, Lamela's brother tweeted someone saying his bro is going to England. Also Rickie is number 430 in "Tancredi's Top 500"!
Anelka - "I became terrified out of my wits by the superiority in every way of Dejan Lovren, and decided this wasn't for me any more."
