Punch is a good squad member , but for me he is a one trick pony. Defenders in this league soon learn that he will cut onto his left and never try to baet the fullback. This was why he worked so well with Clyne, as it left room for Clynes overlap. He would be 5th choice if he stays
Punch was one of our most effective players last season. Even if he doesn't fit exactly into MP's style he is a very useful plan b which is something we have lacked. Would be very surprised and disappointed if he is loaned out without a replacement coming in.
I liked Puncheon's willingness to run at players but Poch didn't seem to rate him too highly. Good luck to him at Palace. This also fits with my theory that Poch plans to use Ramirez out wide this season.
Why don't Arsenal bid for Xabi Alonso? He'd be for sale.......also, a punt at 25/1 for them buying Alderweireld
In the fine old tradition of Arsenal buying Tottenham players, why don't they bid for Lee Barnard..? I doubt if the terms would be that difficult.
Haha, it's getting to the point they may have to! Really is hard to understand what's going through the minds of the hierarchy there.
Sinclair's odds for coming to us have dropped from 25/1 to 4/1 over the past 24 hours on Skybet unless I'm mistaken.
Replacing Punch with Sinclair would be a sour ending to the window for me, personally. To me he completely flatters to deceive, I've seen people elsewhere talk about his 'proven' scoring record but he's only scored 5 goals from open play in 37 starts, as opposed to Puncheon scoring 6 in 25. I have two mates who are Swansea season ticket holders and they were absolutely chuffed to get the money they did for him, can't cross, selfish, gives the ball away incessantly and rubbish attitude. And I've seen others say even worse things about him haha. A year removed from that having been spent sat on the bench counting his pennies does not fill me with desire to have him.
I hope they have good toilet facilities there for him, saying that they are used to **** spread everywhere after the Brighton debacle.
Would be a little disappointed to see Punch move to Palace as I thought he put in a real shift last season scoring half a dozen important goals and showing well as an impact substitute. In effectiveness terms, I would say his influence on the team was higher than the likes of Gaston. We are going to need a deep squad going into this season and am surprised he has moved as there are a good number of unwanted players that must be moved on as a matter of priority before the likes of Punch.
One thing Punch did give us last year was tracking back. He certainly doubled up with Clyne when needed.
