    On paper its a decent team now, I'm glad we are playing them in our 2nd game as they wont have had a chance to jell yet. However I am going to that game and the last 4 times I have been to St.Marys we have lost so unfortunately a loss is inevitable :(

    Premier League side Southampton are ready to make a renewed bid to signRoma striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldoafter having had an earlier approach for the player turned down.
    The Saints could raise the initial offer they made, which was rejected by the player, in an attempt to convince the Italo-Argentine forward to join them on the south coast of England.
    However, despite being linked with Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid among others, Osvaldo is reportedly keen to remain in Italy and win back his place in Italy coach Cesare Prandelli’s plans.
    Il Messaggero reports that in the last few days the Giallorossi hit-man has refused an offer from Bundesliga giants Wolfsburg which would have seen him earn €2.8 million a season with €20m going into the Lupi’s coffers for the transfer.
    The 27-year-old has 28 goals in 57 appearances for the capital club since joining from Espanyol in 2011, but looks set to leave Rome after disciplinary problems at the end of last season.

    I thought our previous bid was accepted but the player didn't want to join? If he wont join Wolfsburg, I can't see him joining us.

    The various Osvaldo reports over the summer don't seem to connect together.
    If we had a bid accepted then why would we come back with a bigger bid?

    Think it must be still the same bid that has remained on the table but just waiting on a yes/no from Osvaldo.

    Sounds like no other club has matched our offer or managed to agree terms.
    To me it rests on the strength of Osvaldo and Pochettinos relationship as to whether he signs.
    Cortese is turning the screw for a yes/no this week. Tick tock

    Reports yesterday was about raising the bid to the player. I think the agreement with Roma is done but now we are prepared to raise the bid to Osvaldo hoping it will take it over the line....

    Agreed. We're raising our offer to the player, not to the club. The same thing happened with Wanyama so hopefully we end up with the same result.
