    With you FLT!
The two signing we have made will pretty much keep us lower mid table bearing in mind a number of the clubs scrapping with us last year have already heavily invested. The additional purchases will hopefully raise us above thee and mean a top ten finish but we do need a few more recruits especially another striker and a wide midfielder

Whilst I agree in principle and fully expect us to bring it at least 2 more quality additions, what this post fails to take into account is that we have a young squad. Players like Clyne, Schneidelin, Lallana, JWP, Rodriguez and Cork should be better next season for the experience of having a year in the premiership and I expect them all to hit the ground running. What's more, players like Mayuka, Ramirez, Boruc and Yoshida, all signed after the season had started last season, should benefit from a proper pre season with the squad and with MP as well as the premiership experience they gained last term.

I think we will start the season fitter than last season, will have the confidence to implement a style of play that an really hurt teams and with the extra bonus of an international centre back and an international holding midfielder (and international captain).

Difficult to say what is needed to finnsh top 10 or what would be seen as "improvement" but I certainly think the squad we have now is significantly better than the one which started last season.

Doesn't look like Osvaldo will be going anywhere. Totti gave him the ball for a penalty today, and Osvaldo scored.

Osvaldo then tweeted his thanks to Totti, who appears to be buddying up with Osvaldo in recent times. Possibly to take the heat off of him.

Manager Oscar Garcia says the team is better off with Osvaldo, and although he made a mistake, he is a great player and a great character.

He went on to say he wants players and characters like Osvaldo in his team.

You've also missed my point, I'm saying if we finish comfortably in the same position as last season the I'd be happy, it's the relegation scraping I don't want to be a part of.

I agree to a point but too many variables to say that other teams have strengthened too so we will be about the same as last season. We have had a full pre-season with MP, sorted the gatekeeper debarcle, radically improved our (previously shocking) defence. And have survived our first PL season and learned to cope.

Sunderland have a new, volatile manager- I think it'll be make or break for them. Stoke may do poorly with Hughes and may struggle if they try and play football. Parades situation could be precarious if that nutter they hired as director of football rubs him up the wrong way.

Of course, I mentioned in an earlier post that I would be happy with anywhere between 11th and 15th.

Why not aim for 10th and higher though, and buy a couple more players

Could Totti not being doing that as a tribute to him? allowing him to have the penalty as he may well be moving to another club?

Of course the Roma manager will be making comments how he would want to keep Osvaldo in his team, of course he would say that.

I'm not saying you shouldn't go for 10th place, I'm saying I'm HAPPY with anywhere between 11th and 15th.

Well in order to get there we need to improve, so it wouldn't be a 'needless buy' if we strengthen anymore

I think it's needless because I think we already have good enough players to improve on last season.

It looks like they are trying to calm their nutcase fans towards Osvaldo. If it doesn't work than I think he'll have to leave, but if Totti is lending his support I'd be surprised if their attitude to him doesn't start to mellow.

The Squad we have is better than last years Olly but alot of the teams that finished around the same place as us have improved their respective clubs more than we have (so far). If we add 1,2 or even 3 Players of simalar standard to Lovren and Wanyama we will have a stonger squad then the likes of Sunderland/Norwich/Swansea/WBA

This. I think Totti and the club are using this to try and extend an olive branch and solve the situation.

I think Garcia's comments also hint at this too.

I personally wouldn't be that happy with anything below 13th (i.e. no improvement on last season).

well seeming as we have spent around £20 million (probably going to increase) we have to do better than 14th for it to be a decent season
