Me too, but I really would like a striker.

 

I'm very happy with that too. A winger is needed the most now for me, and possibly another CB now seeing as Forren has buggered off. Brilliant buys so far

 

Would really like to be in for Ince, think he's a cracking talent for 8m. We might be able to sell him on a nice home in the Forest over Cardiff!

 

He won't be leaving this window as he has just had a child and doesn't want to unsettle his family.

 

OK guys so who is next. My guess is it's another bigee!

 

I really think we need a top quality striker who can worry defenders and get in behind. It would be a benefit if they could do a target man role too. Someone Lukaku-esque.

 

I recon we should buy a right winger, we are a bit lacking in that area, puncheon is pretty much our only option.

I think striker is less of a problem, with Lambert lasting another year at least, Rodriguez finding his feet in the prem, and good things to come from Mayuka i think. I also think Rameirez would make a good striker if needed as we have plenty of cover in central midfield, once he's properly settled that is which i think he will this season.

I also think we don't need another centre back quite yet, Fonte and Hooveild are good enough cover, they did well last season after their initial blip. Maybe we could do with a temporary backup left back as Fox is a liability, and Targett isn't quite ready yet, maybe a loan, Maybe someone who can play on both sides as we are lacking backup on the right to.

 

Striker is the order of the day for me.
We have players that can play as a winger although not being their natural position. Players like Mayuka,Guly seem to be in MC's plans at the moment and i think if Fox is around the squad, he could do a job at LW if we were stuck.

Like it or not, these things may have to happen in games. I would be happy with that if it meant we could sign a top striker.

 

It has to be a top striker now before any other position and that will then be enough.

 

Come on Saints, its been literally HOURS since we bought anyone. Pull your finger out Cortese.

 

It's interesting that Cortese is with the touring party in Spain, he didn't go to Évian did he? Either he's looking to do some business in that part of the world, or he's not looking to any business and is just there for a holiday...

 

He won't be out there long, a couple of days at the most I'd imagine. I wouldn't be surprised if he was back in England today, unless he is doing some business out there...

 

You could be right, maybe he was just there for the Isgrove/Shaw contracts, though they could have done that before leaving. There must be some other reason, unless he just fancied a holiday of course.

 

I'm going to be over optimistic and suggest he is in Spain to meet a player. Might as well take the club jet if its going that way

 

He was out in Barcelona with the squad last time they went, maybe he just likes North East Spain.

 

Certainly not an area to spend big money, but RB and LB have little coverage. Clyne can cover left and Cork right. I don't count Fox as cover really, more a liability. A loan might be an option.

 

Ben Reeves has signed for MK Dons.

 

I get the impression MP is happy with Fox being suitable LB cover. I just hope LS has a consistent run of games, because Danny makes me nervous. Very bloody nervous.

 

Well the way it looks to me is Pochettino rates Targett so doesn't want to buy a more capable back up then Fox. So we could see Targett get the odd sub appearance here and there as we start to build his game time up.

 

I was hoping that would be the case too but the fact that Targett wasn't taken on the pre-season tour whilst the likes of Chambers, Isgrove, Stephens and Turnbull were suggests that may not be the case and at this point and he is not deemed ready as yet.
