Same kind of thing happened with Victor! Speculation but you don't if any of it is true. Poch has worked with Osvaldo before and maybe he can keep him in check. We might have to accept one or two potentially disruptive players if they have the power to win a game!

 

No one ever reported that we had given up on Wanyama. Only his agent said he hadn't spoken to us for a couple of weeks and we took that with a pinch of salt because it contradicted other things we had heard, including things Neil Lennon had said.

Yes, it may be that this article is wrong, but I see nothing to the contrary that suggests we are currently in negotiations to sign Osvaldo.

 

And given the inadvertent leak from Roma (and the fact that they were hoping that fans would jeer him into accepting our offer), it seems pretty clear that he has absolutely no interest in coming here.

 

Agreed. It takes guts form a young lad to turn down prem footy and a pay rise. The whole thing sounded off when Malky aired his deadline views yesterday. He was prepared for failure.

Easy to write Cardiff off after missing Wanyama and seemingly now Ince as well as their incredibly ambitious approach for Cardozo, but was only a week or two ago when all our targets had supposedly rejected us and we were accused of aiming above our station and were doomed for mediocrity. I like their approach so far and they should have back-up targets, will be interesting to see who else they go after now but they could still yet have a very impressive window.

 

As much as I love the prospect of a regular South Wales derby in the Prem, If I was older I would have heart problems because as a Saints fan I worry when we are 2-0 up every game, never happy until the gap is 3 goals (and even then I'm not totally convinced we are safe). So I like all the other clubs to lack ambition, struggle to get players and get bad results, gives us more of a cushion and I can worry less.

Well didn't they confirm that one club is talking to him? And Napoli haven't bid, so presumably it's us...

 

All I would like is Banega and Lukaku.

Saints are obviously aiming high.. We've looked at Damiao, Osvaldo and were apparently seriously looking at Son Heung-Min, according to his agent.

For that.. I know he wouldn't necessarily come to us, but for around the £18 million ball park... I wouldn't be surprised if we were one of the teams who enquired about Roberto Soldado from Valencia. Scouts have obviously been to see games, hence the link with Ruiz and Banega, so why not a big move for someone like him?

 

I'm assuming you mean lukaku on loan, but even then I'm pretty sure he'll stay at chelsea this season

 

If we have a shot at signing any of Chelsea's strikers, it'll be Demba Ba.

 

I'm sure Napoli are interested but the Chairman/President doesn't know because they are talking to his agent to sort out personal terms and persuade the player to leave. This may reduce the asking price if the player kicks up a fuss about leaving or it could just wind up the president. Who knows. Saints seem to be talking to agents first as well now, example being with Ramirez last season.

Did we? Fair enough if we did. All I remember was us talking to his agent and agreeing a deal but not with Bologna for ages. Their president also came out and said Ramirez was going nowhere and I think Gaston kicked off a fuss didn't he and refused to train?

Yeah, the initial offer must have been considered close enough, and they wanted to sell, so they let us talk to him before the final details had been agreed. Ended up taking a bit longer than they probably hoped!

 

Well, our first friendly is on Wednesday and we've signed Dejan Lovren and Victor Wanyama, as well as getting Shaw to sign a five-year deal.

I'm happy with that.
