Some good news, I think: Fulham’s Dimitar Berbatov boost as agent says striker will see out deal
We seem to have been mentioned on a few foreign language sites in the last day- I've put them through google translate. http://www.fussballtransfers.com/bu...llen-der-bundesligisten-schalke-04-8-18_37588 - this just covers Riether situation; Not quite so simple in design, the starting position at Sascha Riether. The 30-year-old from Fulham is the ideal candidate for the right-back. Because the contract of the former Cologne artist at the Craven Cottage is still dated to 2015, sitting, Cottagers' the upper hand. Although Riether has informed the person in charge of Premier League clubs that he wants to return to the Bundesliga in the summer, however, Fulham has not responded to the offer of Schalke. At least three million euros would probably make Heldt loose. http://eurosport.onet.pl/pilka-nozn...wiak-zostaje-w-reims,1,5549470,wiadomosc.html I think this one is dead in the water but wasn't aware of our interest There was a moment when we considered the sale of Gregory. When the coaching staff decided that Krychowiak is invulnerable question of his possible transfer collapsed - said president of Stade de Reims, Jean-Pierre Caillot. - Representatives of the Pole gave me to know that Gregory received many offers from Ligue 1 and from abroad. Especially Fulham wanted him to win, but he quickly explained that Krychowiak is with us still for at least one season. We want to give him a raise and extend his contract - he added. http://www.fussballtransfers.com/bundesliga/ft-info-schalke-behalt-soares-im-auge_37595 i think this one is basically saying he is Schalke's back up option to Riether Since it is to the agile defensive man become quieter. Schalke 04, one of the contenders for the commitment of Soares, vying for Sascha Riether, which would in turn like to switch to the 'squire'. Should the business fail in the veto of Fulham FC, Soares is for information of soccer transfers remain the focus. The youngster, however, has also attracted interest from other top clubs. The launching also in the Champions League qualifiers Olympique Lyon would like to strike. http://www.nemzetisport.hu/legiosok...agyar-kapust-tesztelik-erwin-koemanek-2256953 suggests Somogyi is trialling According to Dutch press reports Csaba Somogyi, Fulham bond of in the English football league leading Hungarian goalkeeper leaving the Waalwijknál participate in trial games. The former Hungary coach Erwin Koeman led the Dutch club's leading goal keeper, defender and striker wants to prove inside the summer, and Somogyi, one of the candidates of the goal post. Nothing spectacular really.
Doubt if Berba knows much about that since he's off on a wee break at the moment. please log in to view this image
We both know how big a role agents can play in convincing players to demand a move, C58. I think, honestly, that Berbatov would be happy to stay here for another year. It's his agent looking for a pay day that is the bigger concern, hence that story being good news.
Damn and blast - he's opted for Olympiakos - "Olympiacos have beaten Fulham to the signing of Marseille midfielder Morgan Amalfitano on loan with an option to buy. Fulham boss Martin Jol was hopeful of concluding a season-long loan deal for the classy Frenchman, who wants to leave France to secure regular first-team football. The 28-year-old joined Marseille from Lorient two years ago but failed to live up to expectations and only started around half of their games last term after a slump in form. But Amalfitano has chosen to sign for Greek champions Olympiacos after speaking to their South African sporting director Pierre Issa - a former Marseille full-back, who he knows well. Olympiacos are willing to match Amalfitano's 40,000 euros a week wages and were prepared to pay £1.5million for him, but Marseille wanted £3million for the permanent deal." http://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/s...r-casts-doubts-over-his-future-at-reading-fc/ Reading linked with Sidwell - would like to keep him as a squad player but not keen on him being a starter, although if we don't add some more options there won't be much choice http://www.expressandstar.com/sport...es-start-to-look-for-bakary-sako-replacement/ Suggests Sako is essentially a done deal And in unrelated news - David Healy looks to be having some trouble off the pitch http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/n...r-assault-allegation-court-told-29378857.html
I see in various places that Sunderland are being linked with a £5m bid for Huddlestone. If we're going to go for him, it looks like now or never.
I would think, given how quickly we've secured long-term targets so far, if we were ever going to sign him we would have already. However, Spurs have just signed that Brazilian midfielder so perhaps the door is ajar for Huddlestone to join us... I'm sure there are solutions in the works one way or t'other.
Would suggest to me Dembele pushes up into the hole, if they get Villa this will impact his playing time I'm sure
Don't think they will go for Villa. Barca want £12 million for him and he's 31. Probably a bit too much for a player that age.
I see we are linked with Kuyt again. Trouble is he's 32. Mind you, he strikes me as one of those Damien Duff types - he doesn't carry any fat and seems to put in the work to stay fit. Kuyt and Berba together? ....a cautious yes from me.
The thing with Kuyt is that his personality and work ethic certainly seem Fulhamish. So it would be a cautious yes from me, subject to what terms would be on offer. With the age thing, I don't have an issue per se. I have high hopes for our youngsters, and signing someone like Kuyt would indicate a policy of signing some older established players to blend with our kids. Not sure how Sako fits into that though...
Yes i agree Surly. Kuyt does seem Fulhamish. Sako seems keen, but is that just wanting to get away from the Wolves car crash? Although their fans did seem to appreciate his workrate last season - with good workrate and some of the players they had - they should have been able to at least survive in the Championship....something seriously wrong @ Molyneux, I think. Epitomized by Moxey being desperate to get a £20k a week with 3 yrs remaining contract off the books of a League 1 team and then expecting to get double what he paid for him - barmy.
Danny Murphy has left Blckburn. "The 36-year-old has reached an agreement to terminate his contract at Ewood Park with immediate effect. His departure follows recent discussions with Rovers manager Gary Bowyer. Murphy, who started his career at Crewe before spells with Liverpool, Charlton and Tottenham, spent five seasons with Fulham after joining them from Spurs in August 2007. He moved to Blackburn last summer on a two-year contract and made 35 appearances for them last season, scoring two goals. A statement on Blackburn's official website read: "The club would like to place on record its thanks to Danny for his efforts and we wish him well for the future." Sky Sports understands that his former cub Fulham could offer Murphy a route back to the Premier League in a possible player-coach role." Source: http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/168/8800511/danny-murphy-leaves-blackburn I've a funny feeling that Danny "burnt his boat" last summer so far as Fulham are concerned and we've moved on.
Remember reading something on this back in March - http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...ny-murphy-make-fulham-return-blackburn-193734 - think that's fairly definitive from Jol. I liked Murphy but not sure he would fit back in all that well.
Indications from this and other sources are that the Bakary Sako deal is going through - "Sako’s move now looks a formality and Wolves boss Jackett said: “Fulham are genuinely interested in Sako and now it is about negotiations between the two clubs. He added, “The offer’s at a very high level, whether it is at a point where the powers that be at Wolves want to accept that or not is another matter.” Source: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolverhampton-wanderers-kenny-jackett-transfer-4804134
Looking forward to seeing his left foot in action! The first goal is a belter. Was unsure of Sako before hand but liking the idea of Amo, Boateng & Sako, all big men, giving some muscle to the team. If we can get a slight play maker in the mould of Coutinho (who was excellent at CC) and a nippy striker to play on the shoulder then the jigsaw is complete (well almost, a new left back would be perfect but dont want to get too greedy). EDIT - dont know why the video is blocked- if you click to the original page its available there.
Apparently we have made a £1.5million bid to bring Dinamo Bucharest striker Marius Alexe to the club. The 23 year-old scored 15 goals last season and has one year left on his contract. He apparently is extremely quick and can also play behind the striker and on the left wing.
