    Francesco Totti... In his pomp he was one hell of a player. I would've been straight out to get an Italy shirt for him to sign.

    Full of footballers and Russian money

    Think we'd have been turfed out if I'd tried that Franco

    Still my claim to fame is that after my wife giggled as we walked past Totti's family he spent his next mornings breakfast glaring at me from across the restaurant

    Even though it was a misunderstanding I was very proud of that

    Sorry Franco- I dont have any inside info.. Was just trying to explain that it is possible to reduce our budget whilst gaining a stronger side. Think I used Howard as he has been linked since Jan.

    I've heard we are talking about going back in for mark gower though. Good player, but he too is the wrong side of 30. I asked if there were anything in the freddy eastwood rumours but apparently not- gutted as I think he would be a real threat in L1.

    Derby have just released Chris Porter 6' 1" 27yrs scored goals for fun in SPL but has had a difficult time at Derby. Easily good enough for L1

    Youga, Semedo and Racon will all be offered vastly reduced deals.Minty at the EGM said these 3 were on Championship wages between 6 to 8K per week. The budget for all the players will be under 4 Million. So it will be a selection of Loans and free transfers coming in.

    For the life of me i simply can not see the point of offering Youga anything, regardless of how reduced the terms may be!!

    There's no doubt he's a quality player but he's not kicked a ball in anger for nearly two years. Whatever we spend on his wages could imo be better spent elsewhere.

    I think porter has to be targeted, but heard scunny going for him. Hopefully we will move quickly, which we didn't do last season. That's one positive for the summer atleast. No more budget meetings on the august bank holiday!!!!

    I've never seen anything of Porter. 25 starts for Derby in two and a half years don't inspire me too much but he could be worth a punt if he could rediscover his earlier goalscoring form.

    Kind of like the Hoskins at Watford scenario I think. If only we did our budget meeting at the start of the summer like most clubs- we would have Hoskins and BWP.

    And if your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle <laugh>.

    No point worrying about things you can't change, whats done is done!!

    I can't see there being much dough to spend... But fortunately the way football is these days there's bound to be plenty of good players out there who we can bring in for next to nothing.

    Priorities for me are:
    * 2 CB's
    * LB
    * LM
    * CM (a creative midfielder is an absolute must but numbers depends on who stays and who goes)
    * Big forward (not a must but i feel this would give us extra options)

    Night night chaps, been up grafting all night so bed is calling... Look forward to seeing your take on things when i wake up.

    i'm wtih Franco on this one, we've all got used to so much negativity and bad news over the years that listening to rumours on Charlton Life etc shouldn't be taken as fact

    The board for me stated there intentions with the signing of Wright-Phillips, don't forget Reading were close to signing him and we can't have been the only ones in for him so we must still be up there with the league's top budgets even if it is reduced from last season.

    For me anyway i'm prepared to give Powell and the new owners a chance this summer to get things right, I hope they have a budget in place for Day 1 of when the transfer window opens and I hope CP has his targets lined up already and that these can be pursued and signed and all in town to begin pre-season training.

    If the new owners can afford to subsidise season tickets and matchday revenue offering £5 tickets they must have some money behind them which i'm sure will be happy to spend on the right player.

    The team and squad as a whole needs a massive overhaul
    LB
    CB x 2
    CM
    CF are all needed

    I would like us to go after Dawson of Leyton Orient in particular, great CM really shone in both games for Orient against us.
    I'd offer Youga a new deal if he's willing to stay under new management and owners, he is the player I feel we missed the most over the last 2 seasons followed by Richardson

    There's plenty of freebies out there out of contract and this time we must go in for the likes of Hoskins as soon as the transfer window opens.
