Krul 7 Ok overall, but a few mistakes, but I don't blame him, he's playing against STOKE

Simpson 8 was excellent, had Ethrington on his back pocket, one of his best games for us.

    Coloccini 7.5 Solid as ever

S Taylor 7.5 Solid as ever

R Talyor 7.5 Like Simpson Excellent game, and him and Jonas has Pennant in their pockets

Guthrie 8 Ran the show with Cabaye, they controlled the midfield easily as Stoke are ****

    Cabaye 8 Same as Guthrie

Obertan 8 Great final product today, and nearly scored.

Gutierrez 8 Did everything in the defensive side, worked his arse off, great shift mate <ok>

    Ba 9.9 No comment

Best 7 Held up the ball well, and has a good understanding with Ba, but still no goals.

Everyone's being harsh on Perch, the challenge he got booked for was a decent one but his studs were showing. He certainly didn't bottle it.

He got involved a few times and made a real classy tackle on our right hand side. He threw himself right into a fiery game against a physically imposing unit, good on him.

Cabaye was still good but Stoke were **** hot on him, overall I think we were fantastic, Pardew has really drilled our midfield into being aggressive and not giving anyone a second. It really shows and we're reaping the rewards now.

    This.

I think it was a wise move putting him in. What was Cabaye gonna do, when were 2-1 down and on the back foot?

Stoke Tony Pulis: "Their first two goals were poor goals. The lad's offside from the goalkeeper's kick for the first one but from that point onwards our defence was poor. We got the goal and we can step on it but it's a penalty that the referee gives them that kills the game. We had the ascendancy in lots of respects but it wasn't our night tonight and fair play to Newcastle. We have contributed to their three goals."

There were the obvious standout players i.e. Jonas and Ba however I thought Best was excellent today. He held the ball up brilliantly and worked like a trojan. The whole team were fantastic so proud of the lads.

Good all round and it was lovely to see our fullbacks using the towel at every opportunity, and fantastic the pen came from a long throw. I presume the Guthrie dig was at me, and he did have a very good game tonight, albeit against near stationary central midfielders. Good performance though and some good contained passing. Not sure what you've marked Coloccini down for though, he didn't put a foot wrong and tidied up on many occasions.

Agree with everything apart from criticizing the commentator , thought he and the main commentator were very complimentary of our defending.

Oh and I'm starting to like Gary Neville <yikes>

Get this man off the tele before I hang a poster of him over my bed!

Yeah, cheeky twat! He moaned to the fourth official and taped his watch. That was probably why there was 5 minutes of extra time.

Question is though ... why is it time wasting if our players use the towels but it isn't when his do. Pulis is a ****ing prick!

Presumably it was extra height to defend long throws/corners. Cabaye stayed up the pitch for them whilst he was on, the sub made sense to me.

Perch came on to win the headers that jones won every time when he dropped off and no body tracked him. I can see why they put him on but as everyone knows noone knows what goes on in that head of perchys head at times. Think Smith did the same thing at WBA last year. First touch tackle booking
