I love how Nostalgic used Mark Bosnich as an example of how lucky we were <laugh>

I referred to Sunderland being a sleeping giant you strangly mentioned Arsenal as a possible sleeping giant.
    Basically I think a txt miscommunication .

I attempted to debate with him on another thread with him regarding how he believes Ellis Short holds no responsibility whatsoever to our plight but he just waffled and swerved the questions I asked until I pulled him on it.

Not worth the time and effort you put into the posts.

    Yeah, I also noticed that.

Intent on trying to belittle the most valuable brand in football and apportioning the success off the pitch to serendipity.

I wonder if he thinks Zuckerberg was just lucky ****ing around on his laptop with some simple blue and white fonts.

Yep, fair enough I got that wrong and it was done from memory that obviously needs a service, but it was not done out of bitterness or jealousy and was based on the misgivings of ManU fans I travelled with and within OT in the season following the departure of the three mentioned when you struggled at the start of the season.

In Yorke's case, ManU had made it an open secret that they wanted to sign him and he did everything he could to get away but he would have been free at the end of that season under the new Bosman rule.

The main thrust of the post was intended to show that ManU has not always been the self appointed greatest club in the world but to illustrate that they had dodged a bullet in not being taken over by Knighton. Got a huge financial boost by going public, add the Sky money and they then had a head start on others more by luck than judgment.

He was signed on a Bosman though (from memory) as he was Yorke's mate at Villa.
I answered those, and stand by my thoughts and beliefs on how football can be swayed by luck just as much as decision making. Short appointed managers, possibly the best or only ones available, then got rid when they did not produce. That is just about as active as any chairman can get. Players protected by contracts to attract them here at the time have to be honoured regardless.

Ok mate, no hard feelings. My reply was at 3am or something so was a bit groggy <ok>

Gonna watch the match now, ciao.

Also just FYI... We released Bosnich from our club on a free before he went to Villa, so we really should be afforded that one, we don't have to buy them all back for £89m
