was a good game wasn't it? much better than this FIFA nonsense.

I had the fence around the pitch, the floodlights, scoreboard, the throw-in taker (utter ****e) and various teams, although not Swansea (bizarre).
Brazil and QPR had the best kits, although I also had a fancy for the Scottish '86 strip and would quite often steer them to victory.

Me and a mate were so sad we used to keep a league and play all the fixtures....and write it all up in a book, with a league table on every page.....and note all goal scorers.

Anyone else as pathetic as this?

I was in a league of 6 played home and away. If I remember rightly the standard of chipboard that we used as a base impacted the game.

We also had a summer cricket "Test Match" competition. Tried the Rugby version once but that was rubbish.

My mate had chipboard, felt like luxury. Can see how a few divots would call into question the integrity of your whole league though.

The cricket version was ****ing quality.

I've just decided to purchase both and force my son to play with me...and this time I'm treating myself to a Swansea strip, even if I've got to paint the ****er on myself!

How did sub buteo rugby work then?

The scrum was in the shape of a rugby ball. You put the ball in the top and it had the possibility of 6 exits.

Anyone else perfect chipping the ball over the wall into the top corner from free kicks? I was that annoying little ****er. Last day of Primary School someone would bring a set in and we would play winner stays on, I'd be there all morning
