The bottom line is that Suarez doesn't give a toss, and considers himself above the law. Sincerely hope FIFA have the bottle to give a 12 month ban from ALL football. Remember, this his THIRD bite, so he deserves all he gets

Three strikes and youre out is appropriate for Hannibal Luis. He needs a year out of all football for this one, and a compulsory order to get those teeth seen to. He makes Bugs Bunny look like Janet Street Porter.

    Match implications -

Against Chelsea, Suarez bites, doesn't get sent off, then scores, meaning Chelsea don't get 3 points.

Against Italy (who looked comfortable even with 10 men), Suarez bites, doesn't get sent off, then shortly afterwards Uruguay score and go through, sending Italy home and putting themselves through.

Regardless of the individual action that will be taken, it's poor that with video evidence available there and then, issues are not dealt with. Would Chelsea have kept Liverpool out and held onto 3 points? Would Italy have gone through with the draw? Impossible to say for sure, but without such an influential player like Suarez on the pitch, it would have been a lot more difficult for them.

Horrible, nasty piece of work. It will be really interesting to see the level of punishment dished out.

If FIFA are sensible he gets a full year's suspension from all footballing activities (both domestic and international). If they want to come out this with good karma with people, especially after the shenanigans going on this World Cup, he gets the full 2 years ban from all comps.

I feel the punishment won't ever fit the crime here Croc. I'm hearing this morning comparisons with the Zidane headbutt which only received a 3 game ban but in my book this is far, far worse. Suarez is a habitual offender and should be hammered in a way that has never been seen before.

What is worse is the way he attempted to 'blag it' both at the time of the incident and continues to do so in his post match statements. As you say, he's a nasty piece of work and I'd be delighted to never see his like on a football field ever again.

This is entirely different to a headbutt. Wild animals, children and mental patients bite people. Plus, as you say he's committed this offence 3 ****ing times <laugh> horibble ****.

I'm eagerly anticipating what Sisu has to say about this.

I'm assuming Sisu is a Liverpool fan Drogs?

For an incident like this club allegiance doesn't come into it. No fan of football can do anything but vigorously condemn this vile action by a vile individual. Any attempt to do so has got to be a wind up.

When Suarez took a chunk out of the lad in Holland I can accept that we all make mistakes but doing it a second time is beyond belief ................ now this. As London says, 'get this racist cheat out of football'.

Sisu likes to think that the general dislike for Suarez is down to some sort of unconscious racism <laugh>, and that anybody who dislikes him actually dislikes him because he's south american and not because he's a disgusting ****.

I have a feeling he will get 12 months International ban, and nothing else. Chielini will get 2 match ban for attempted elbow!

Although not a violent person myself, I must say that if anyone had bitten me, I would beat the living crap out of them.

What's also very bad here, is that this is absolutely on the World stage. Kids of all ages would have seen this. In my view (and I doubt whether there is the power to do this), I would be suggesting a minimum of 1 year ban from all football.

    Suarez loves his gran though......

Seriously I am amazed this has happened again. As much as I hated to admit it, he really cleaned up his act last year but back with a bang with this (plus his post match comments after our game with Uruguay).

Has to be a 12 month world wide ban from all competitive football for me. You have to send a message, especially given he is a repeat offender. I suspect his world cup is over at least which is pleasing but I think he'll only get say a 12 month international ban which is nowhere near enough. Players shouldn't have to play against him fearing being bitten if things don't go Suarez's way. Also Suarez not getting sent of has influenced another result (Much like when we played them). No ban will put Italy back in the tournament where they belong.

Am also shocked by the post match comments from the little racist, his manager and team mates. Unbelievable.

If this was a 1st offence I would be quite happy to have his ban to be exclusively international but this has to be far more severe. I don't know what powers FIFA have but I saw this earlier.

Serbian defender Slobodan Rajkovic was on Friday banned for 12 months for spitting at the referee following his side's 2-0 defeat by Argentina in a group match at the Beijing Olympics, FIFA announced.

The incident took place after 19-year-old Rajkovic, who plays at Chelsea but has been loaned out to Dutch side Twente, had been one of two Serbian players shown a red card by Abdullah Al Hilali.

A statement from the FIFA Disciplinary Committee read: "At its 1 September 2008 meeting, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided to suspend Slobodan Rajkovic (Serbia) for 12 months for spitting at the referee on 13 August 2008 after the Argentina vs. Serbia match at the Olympic Football Tournaments.

"This suspension applies to all national and international matches including club competitions. This decision may be appealed."

Of course, the above is a totally separate incident that involves a referee which they are bound to be more protective of. However, Suarez was on a world stage in front of an audience of millions so hopefully he will get smashed with at least a year total football ban though personally I'd fu*k him off out of it for life.

This isn't someone merely trying to cheat, this is someone who is beyond social normality. He has a problem which has been ignored to a great extent because of his 'football' value and of course his monetary value to his club and more importantly his agent and sponsors. Nobody wants to roast the cash cow when it is in the prime of it's earning power. FIFA is wobbly in such matters. It'll take a sponsor to make big noises for Suarez to receive any lengthy football ban because FIFA has no integrity of it's own.

This is not a footballing matter either. Chellini suffered a physical assault of the kind you should not have while playing football. It should be a police matter. Why isn't it? Money talks.

The punishment handed out to Gnasher has to be something that protects opponents! Its no good handing out a ban that keeps opponents safe from cannibalism for a limited period, and then free to be chewed when he comes back!
I suggest that he will only be allowed to play again if he wears a muzzle, throughout the match!

United fan in peace, and with this thought.

I wonder if the toothy (r) unt would have been daring enough to bite Ron Chopper Harris at the peak of his career ?

    Or Vinnie Jones!!

I surprised he had the nuts to go for Ivanovic in truth but fortunately for him Ivan kept his call enough to avoid smacking the little prick and getting a big ban himself - something admittedly that would be amazing to see.
