To me I think it's an accumulation of past incidents, thats why he's had a 10 game ban. It will be interesting to see the reasoning why the FA came to this conclusion. To me mind the one offence I think is so disgusting is spitting at a player. If I was on the tribunal board and a player came in front of me accused of spitting, I'd ban the bastard for a whole season.
following on my comment, one ban i would ban is rooney, everytime a decision goes against him he launches into a verbal tirade against the ref, they should show more courage, yellow, next tirade red, see ya
Musty, I hate all this crowding round the ref and haranguing him about a decision going against them. Man U have been doing this for years and getting away with it. The FA seem to be scared of them.
Agree Musty, it's about time these spoilt brats get brought down a few pegs. On the Rooney swearing etc, I thought that the refs were supposed to book players if they swear during a match? Rooney would never finish a game if I was reffing as his language on a pitch is beyond disgusting.
agree Never, Rooney is a disgrace, refs should card anyone who used foul language against them or touch them whilst whining
its in the rules, foul language towards a ref is a red card, rug man might be leaving manu, maybe for colchester
interesting comment, believe he will now be banned for over 20 matches since his time with Liverpool. i do not deny he is a great player but can a club afford to lose a player for that amount of time. maybe he does not get paid whilst banned?
Valley, the thing is if he did leave for another european club, the ban is still enforced at his new club. So theirs no way around it.
This is what is so inconsistent about the length of ban a well known player that the media hounds and the majority of the rest......He has to accept the ban now but i can see liverpool's point and whether anyone hates the player or not he deserves a fair punishment that is in conjunction with all the other serious offences as mentioned.....A fine is not here or there for a player like suarez even though some charity will benefit. A 10 match ban is way over the top but a ban is a must after all he committed an offence, It should have been a mandatory 3 match ban, and a months wages and some kind of community service for how long the ban is......dont forget he will still be paid big wages once he has paid the fine and that is no punishment for a multimillionaire.....He will probably go off on holiday now as the season is over for him where i would make him do community service until the season is over......oh and attend anger management courses.....
I was listening to 5 live on Wednesday and they were going on about Suarez and the ban. They were saying that it can be implemented if he played for another european team.
agree with the community service thing and the charity thing but Dai but once again you are missing my point, he has prior, a 7 week ban, second offence has to be more, i must be typing to myself. Watford just scored
To me a fine doesn't hurt the player with the salaries their on. Only a ban would have the desired affect. I still can't work out what they think he will gain from attending an anger management course. It's not as if he's chinned someone and going round ranting and raving. If you want someone to go on anger management then send bloody Rooney.
