I find it hilarious how Suarez is attacked for diving every week, but Drogba was heralded almost as a messiah following his 'performance' against Barca in the CL. Never seen a player on the floor as much as Didier that night. So much inconsistancy - I'm not going to say bias, conspiracy or whatever because that's just dependant on which side of the fence you sit. But reporting of players who dive IS inconsistant. Bale, Young, Nani, Drogba and Ronaldo have all dived just as much as Suarez and none of them get the same press coverage.
I must say though, I did love that he was giving Barca a heavy dose of their own medicine. Ever since the Busquets "peek a boo" I have hated that side of their game. Xavi, Iniesta, Messi are all top but the rest love to go down and play the theatrics way way too much.
Do you know what? It's about time we stop caring. Suarez says he doesn't give a **** about what anyone else says so why should we? BR needs to tell LS that he'll get nothing for rolling around and waving at the ref whether he was fouled or not so why bother? I've said this before & I'll say it again: If LS is fouled & the ref doesn't call it, he needs to shut up & let the Captain go up to the ref & ask why no decision. In the post match interview Stevie just needs to say one word: the number of calls the ref didn't give, then walk off. He "did" his press conference, just kept it brief. If I was BR I'd do the following & (warn LS I was going to do it to convince him. )I'd make a VT of every match showing how many dives LS made in the match & how many fouls were committed against him without a refs decision. I'd then have the LFC website post the montage of both & the foul per dive score and let's all laugh at the media & cocks that are supposedly managers/players about how wrong they are....if LS keeps his mouth shut on pitch the scores on that board would soon speak for themselves. And quite possibly the scores on the pitch would take care of themselves too!
Fair enough and fair play frank, but the agenda against him is persistent and as annoying as his dives. Only today SSN has persisted with their agenda by doing another interview in which they gave Fifa official Jim Boyce a further chance to single Suarez out for criticism which he happily did.
Oh I know Page, my gut reaction is to defend the inconsistent treatment he receives too but it's pointless while he does his bird flapping complaining as that is what will be used as the excuse by all the pricks. So BR could show how much he is above the hypocrisy of Pukis, Fergie, Wenger et al and do the competitive scores each match: in fact how about we do it? Show that we can be objective about this. All someone has to do is post "dive 2nd minute" or FNG Suarez 34th minute" and we can go count them after the match & add them to the comparitive thread? Lets see if he's a diver or hard done by, by the end of the season. What about it?
Go for it frank. But be aware of all the usual suspects that will call a foul on him fair and a legit pen a dive, things will never change for him in the Prem from now on and from now on it's damage limitation.
The fact of the matter is that if you're foreign you get a worse deal. The exception that proves the rule is Joey Barton. Suarez will basically need to be stabbed to get a penalty yet lightly flicked to get a free-kick. The reason being is that he does dive, he has dived and probably will continue to dive. But Young, Welbeck and Bale (also Gerrard in the past) are all British so are deemed to show "Naivety" or are "avoiding" the definite challenge coming.
