They've got to tread a fine line - the chat on the Liverpool board indicates that quite a few fans still support Dalglish and Suarez over FSG, in spite of all the money FSG has provided either directly or indirectly in the form of sponsors. If FSG do get rid of them both they may end up in the same situation as H&G and Benitez, with fans claiming Dalglish didn't get enough money and thus undermining whoever they try to bring in as a new manager. They've already shown how vulnerable they are to fan pressure what with bringing back Dalglish and buying Carroll. But like you say, if the owners do nothing then Liverpool becomes a much harder sell on the global stage.

Noone is the US cares fk all about this, racism is as common as fries over there


The second bit is totally incorrect.

FSG took this long to do anything, what they want, is the bad publicity to stop, thats it. Everything was fine until Suarez made an error, the media did the rest, to say this is Suarez Dalglish and FSG will deal with them whilst adding a few cheapshots there too is some of your best bollox swarbs, pure horsesh!t from a usually good poster. There is a PR issue now and they have to deal with it, as with Standard, it was all unclear, his word against mine, but now Suarez clearly made the wrong decision to not shake hands, but to say this or that, get rid of ect ect, because he felt he was done by Evra and the FA, well, like I said, you usually post sense not this horsesh!t above.

Ah, but you forget that there is one thing more common than racism in the US, and that is a superiority complex. Almost every American is convinced that their country is superior to all the others, and so will happily look down their nose at other people who have exactly the same problems as them.

And as you say, it is a PR issue now. And American PR is not known for being particularly subtle or conciliatory...
 
I would say Suarez should have just shook Evra's hand. Whether or not he was actually guilty of racially abusing Evra (IMO he was just guilty of being ignorant of the language - not really a good defence, but still makes an 8 match ban seem rather harsh), at this point I think everyone just wants the matter put to bed.
I can see where he was coming from with not shaking his hand, and myself I'd be too stubborn / proud to want to shake his hand (this is assuming that Suarez believes he is innocent), but he is a professional and should have realized by now that when he plays for liverpool, and when he lets his pride get the better of him it reflects badly on everyone associated with the club.

Well there nothing stopping 'everyone' from doing so is there? If fact there's no reason 'everyone' had to make such a fuss about it in the first place. Looks to me like 'everyone' are just enjoying the childish squabble and are in fact grateful to Suarez for giving them an excuse to do so

If anything, what Rio did was comendable, it was simple if suarex had have shook hands rio would have

There's racism everywhere, no doubt about it, but the United States is a relatively untapped market that Liverpool COULD have a major stake in. FSG are the best owners with their success already in American sports to help push your brand here in America. A big racism scandal will only tarnish your name. Every big club has at least one big marketable player, that the media uses as the face of the club, ours is Wayne Rooney, Madrids is Ronaldo ect. Steven Gerrard was yours, and I'm sure still is in regards to Liverpool fans point of view, but Suarez is your best player and subsequently the face of your club. How do you market some one who is labeled a racist by the FA? You can get off with most stuff these days, wether it's cheating on your wife, swearing in a camera, beating up a dj, kicking a fan in the chest, but racism is something that's extremely hard to forget. What do companies that can't sell a certain product do? They stop making that product. Suarez and Daglish have themselves look like asses during this whole racism scandal, and like it or not, Liverpool is just one of FSG's products.

Oh and if something similar to this happened in the states, I'm sure it would be dealt with much more effectively.
