It will, but Liverpool can still demand a good price for him. You're in a much better position than we were with RVP
That's a good point, so how many of you goners are in favour of trying to sign him and how many aren't? And how much cash would you be willing to spend on him?
As I've said on here before, I'd take him in a flash. I actually promoted the idea of us trying to sign him over a year ago, but it just never seemed like an option. Personally I think he'd score bucket loads at Arsenal, and Liverpool would be losing their best asset, so the price would be high. I don't think he's a £40m player because of the baggage, but £35m would seal a deal for me.
That's the thing, his baggage, he has a lot of it. But, like you say he is our best asset so I'd be very surprised if we sold him for less than £40m. It'll be interesting to see how well we'll do without him, because I think we'll surprise a lot of people on how well we will actually do without him.
He scored 23 goals for you last season fella, not sure who else at Liverpool could do the same. You'd have to buy another striker and they are in demand this transfer window !
I would pay £40M for him but no more than that. I don't think his baggage will have any bearing on the price, unless he starts kicking up a fuss and forcing his way out. Although he has made it clear he wants to leave, he has been pretty careful with his words so far. Lets not forget that he is a world class striker but Higuain is not bad either and will probably cost around £27M, his wages will probably be lower, too. We could use the money spared to spend on other deals we might've tried to haggle on. Tbh I think Suarez is utter scum, no matter what defenses and excuses people come up with for him, I will always think that. If he did sign for Arsenal then he would have my complete support but if he carries on the antics that he has shown in Liverpool, Ajax and Uruguay colors, I will NEVER defend him.
And take out his 23 goals and we'd still have finished 7th, whereas take Bale out of Spurs and they would have finished one below us, Suarez didn't carry us as much as what people thought. Whilst he scored a lot of goals for us, he didn't necessarily win us a lot of game, unlike Bale with Spurs.
