I remember the days when you had to post 1000 comments to get one rep point

I didn't start paying attention to the rep system until I saw it had turned back red the other day.

    10) Juventus: Juventus are currently placed at 10th in the list with 21 million fans across the world.
    9) Inter Milan: Inter Milan are expected to have 24 million fans world wide.
    8) Bayern Munich: Bayern Munich are estimated to have 50 million fans which makes them 8th in the list of most popular football clubs.
    7) Liverpool : Despite of failing to seize Champions League spot in recent years, Liverpool are estimated to have 70 million global fans.
    6) AC Milan : AC Milan are supported by 98 million fans around the world.
    5) Arsenal : Arsenal have a strong fan base at Asia and Africa that has led them to have 115 million fans worldwide.
    4) Chelsea: Chelsea are another club to have a huge fan base at Asia which leads them to have 140 million supporters worldwide which puts them 4th in the list of most popular football clubs.
    3) Real Madrid: Real Madrid are 3rd in list of most popular football clubs with an estimated 180 million fans.
    2) Barcelona: Barcelona might have won everything in recent five years, but they are only the second most popular football club, with approximately 260 million fans.
    1) Manchester United: Manchester United have the most fans around the world, with an astonishing 350 million Red Devils. This fanbase puts them 1st in the list of most popular football clubs.

And with Bayern's CL win you might be down to 8 <ok>
We have more fans worldwide. And we are the biggest team in North London <ok>

You're not even the biggest club in Liverpool! Last I checked, Everton ended above you, :-D.

Care to give any facts & figures to back up your claims?

Liverpool used to be huge, and global. But fans these days wear Arsenal shirts - in Asia, and Africa Arsenal are bigger. Europe has its own leagues, as does S America, while N America has a wealth of other sports. Just where is this imaginary global Liverpool fanbase hiding?

Perhaps it's about time you realised that Liverpool have been not only poor on the pitch, but poor in the boardroom & poor in the global market for some time, and it has damaged them.

Arsenal will never get Suarez. Creepy Wenger is just taking the piss out of his own fans by going in for players he has no chance of signing. Even some Nigerian no-mark turned you down.

I understand your fears, you were a big club that is now languishing in mid table, you must be hurting inside knowing your best players thinks you will never again grace the champions league. You have owners who are trying to sell up and a manager who embarrasses himself by claiming he has a dossier that is the key to world domination, utterly cringe worthy. I would be in denial and lashing out just like you if the roles were reversed.

Surely you shouldn't use our owners wanting to sell up as a point scorer?

    1 - as they've said it's rubbish
2 - as any rumoured part-financing from the Middle East is for a new stadium
3 - us being bought by a discerning Arab gentleman of incredible wealth would be awful for Arsenal

I was responding to a WUM. But to take your points, FSG clearly thought there was an opportunity to make quick easy money at liverpool, and have found it to be the opposite, with them having to give you loans to cover losses. Either you need to become successful quickly to increase revenue, i.e get into CL, or rapidly become self sufficient. American investors will not subsidise you for long, unlike arab/ Russians. Let's not forget they have already had criticism over the pond form red socks fans because of their involvement in Liverpool, if it comes down to one or the other, they will pick the red socks.

    I know, don't worry.

    - Their bet was that they were buying the club at a criminal price - due to H&G, far below the club's worth. They could then reinvest this money in players to reinvigorate the club. Unfortunately, Comolli (and Kenny) took this golden ticket and ripped it up. Only Suarez and Enrique have really succeeded from that initial splurge. Hendo is improving rapidly in fairness.
    - Our financial position in terms of worth is extremely good for a non-CL team. It of course was before - but we are increasing our revenue consistently. The Americans/Ian Ayre are very savvy in terms of commercial deals - something Liverpool have lagged behind United in for years.
    - I agree they will never do more than make us self-sufficient + a modest budget. But then again they saved the club, and we will never go bust with them. They're too sensible.
    - I agree they would pick the Red Sox over us. And why not? It's where their heart is.

What is happening with your stadium, is developing anfield now the preferred option? If so is it defiantly going to happen. A new build can be crippling as we well know, but is good in the long term, I remember the designs I seen from the hicks regime, looked pretty cool but obviously too expensive.

The refurbishment plans are all ready and have outline council approval. LFC have had to wait for the council to pass their own Area plans which not only approved LFC's plans but backed them with compulsory purchase authority if required. As usual, it's not the building that is the problem but the morass of bureaucracy that goes with it.

As far as I know, it would appear that all should be in place to begin the refurbishment at the end of this coming season.

Knowing Liverpool there will have to be a catch. Something that ends up making fools outta of you, and making us all laugh in the process. Nothing ever goes smoothly for you.
