Disagree - I see your point but i wouldn't want an average player playing 30 games a season.

I would call the likes of Arbeloa and Finnan average*

    * even in your terminology of the word average

I agree in that case. They're not average players - they were certainly 7/10 each week.

6/10 is when you get to Skrtel, Enrique, Johnson level.

Depends who and where they play, for example I'd rather have Aguero for half a season than Ings for a full season.

  5. I clearly meant consistent regular first players that aren't world beaters but are rarely injured.

I'd even say the same if it were Suarez, if he were only available for a handful of games a season then I'd sell him.

PS...Skrtel yes but Enrique and Johnson were more 4/10 every week. Aka; ****!

  6. Well, since you used such unbiased players in your argument like...

As much as I like Ings and he may become a very good player for us, he's not exactly the level we should be settling for is he?

also, see my last comment regarding Suarez!

IF we got a decent offer... But I doubt we would with his injuries.

Fit he's the best player we have and makes an impact on every game. I'd still sell him though because we need a player who plays.

Arbeloa at his peak could have walked into 4 out of 5 champions league teams. That to me is above average. Finnan at his best was close to that too.

  10. I never agree with the word average, that to me would suggest they are of lower league standard or worse. every player in the PL is well above average.

I agree on Arbeloa but I never said he was poor, I said he was Mr Consistent. Finnan was the inventor of consistency though <laugh>

  11. Agger got more injuries, Studge is out for longer periods.

That's probably fair. Studge has been more impacted by injuries though.

Over 8.5 seasons Agger averaged league 20.6 games a season.

Over 2.8333 season Studge averages 20.5 league games a season.

This clearly shows that Agger was way less injured than Sturridge.

    :bandit:<whistle>

Actually Sturridge's average is thrown off by his 29 games in 2013-2014... That's double any other season.

Yeah... I was actually surprised. I expected Sturridge to be lower and Agger higher. But both played approx half the league games each season.

Although with Agger he hasn't always been 1st choice. Woy and Rodgers didn't like him and he was rotated under Rafa.
