It wasn't too long again a lot of Man Utd fans fancied their chances of signing Rues, have you got a better chance of European glory?
Seriously though, you have a manger with no European experience and three quarters of a team in the same position. This can work two ways, a team can either go in with no fear and play their normal game and take everyone else by surprise or, get completely overwhelmed by very well oganised European teams and end up thinking "what the **** happened there".
We had no expectations last season with very few "title challenging experienced" players too. Pretty sure we went for it. We will have low expectations for Europe this coming season and we shall enjoy every second
Don`t get me wrong here, i think you could do quite well in Europe, i don`t think you will do as well in the league (but then i never dreamed you would do as well as you did this season either). The post i originally answered was that Reuse would have more chance of domestic/European honours at Liverpool than he would with Dortmund which i think is wrong.
I agree with that, especially since there are only a handful of clubs that could say otherwise. I was just being awkward I predicted us to finish fifth last season. I don't much from this season either but hopefully I'll be presently surprised again
I only answer personal questions asked by PM, unfortunately there is a very long waiting list for this service
Diego's X + Y must equal future United success is only matched by our supposed lack of CL experience must equate with Euro failure and is based upon as much reality as Ben Smith in Rio attempting to report the true state of play in the Suarez negotiations in London! It may make both them feel happier about themselves but is based upon precious little fact. As far as LFC is concerned, Suarez's departure has been predicted. Not only will that mean a loss of skill but also a change to the set up and tactics of the team. However, it is a possibility that the club will have been planning for since the end of last season. It is both Rodgers and our jobs to not fall into that same trap as Diego. Yes we will have more money to spend. But that does not mean that we must go looking for a marquee signing as a replacement. We know the areas of weakness in the side. Let's address those with young hungry players that fit the culture of our squad. The players are out there, let's take our time and find the right fit or us - even though that means we don't even bid for the names that the pundits demand that we should. The Suarez days look as though they are over. So we replacement with the collective talents that we displayed last season. Ergo X + Y does not equal XY whereas Sterling, Sturridge, Coutinho and Lallana equals an attacking dilems for any defence!
You're making sense It's a similar scenario as with United minus Ronaldo imo, they lost by far their best player but that didn't mean they would plummet down the league table the following season. Most of the good things we did last season were not Suarez.
