It's time for the whole Arsenal board to now prove that they can be equally successful in managing risk. You can be cash rich but strategically poor.

I agree. I think one of the issues that they have is the difference in the agendas of the major shareholders, which are poles apart. Kroenke is quite happy just taking the profit, whereas Usmanov wants to have some 'fun' with his asset & chase the dream on the pitch. I think the very public pressure that Usmanov exerted earlier this year, ruffled enough feathers to allow Gazidis to take the shackles off in terms of player funding - or at least that's how it appears. We'll see come Sept whether it has transpired into actions.

sorry tobes but everythign you've put here hardly leads up to any conclusion you've a goo about reading accounts....

MITO given that your reply showed that you patently don't know the difference between the P&L & the balance sheet, I'd suggest you leave it there mate. <ok>

when did i refer to the P&L... I posted balance sheets, the P&L for each company are in the financial reports of the "properly run" clubs. LFC is a disaster zone for finding full accounts. But i gave you every possible link and referred to the balance sheets....again deflecting to me my dear....

I corrected you on arsenal's stadium and you don't like it... had you just said sorry but lfc have x in cash and this shows it and you posted it yourself fine but the deflection tactics are a bit rich.

In any event... I rekcon its high time we took arsenals cash reserve and put it in our bank so....

Ah Tobes, Champion of all v Liverpool<laugh>

It's been no secret for years that arsenal were going to be in excellent financial shape regardless of those claiming themselves geniuses for figuring it out in 2013<whistle>

But we won't be weaker! IF you did pluck up the courage to invest then we would have in excess of £50 million to invest in other players. You would have a player with a track record of being banned/suspended for large parts of each season - now don't tell me that Wenger will manage him better and he won't get into trouble! He will also be surrounded by a second class team reliant on average players like Arteta and Ramsey supported by an ever injured player like Wilshere. No mate it's your side that truly needs drastic surgery. Better keep an eye on WHU 'cos they'll be pushing you for the 'title' of the 3rd best side in London

**** me. Do you actually believe any of this?

All this Arsenal far superior, no they're not **** is tiring guys.

Last 8 years we have finished above arsenal 3 times they have finished above us 5 times.

We have finished ahead of you the last 4 seasons in a row and have accumulated 52 more points than you in the process. 52 points is actually the amount of points you picked up in 11/12, just to put things in perspective. But never mind, we are not far superior. Not even slightly.

What's your point in explaining this? Are we supposed to stop supporting Liverpool and bow to the mighty Arsenal?

I don't get these arguments.

Frankly for 50mill you can have him.

I don't understand them either, I didn't come here to argue but there seem to be a lot of angry Pool fans here talking garbage about Arsenal simply because we have shown an interest in one of your players. As if we have done something wrong. They need to grow up.

A lot of you are talking garbage on the arsenal board and have been since this whole transfer thing began<ok>

Perhaps. It also becomes tedious when some Arsenal fans come on here giving it the biggun too and rubbing our noses in it.

You lot should know better considering how many top players you have sold over the past 5-10 years.

ye have one thing that matters as far as Suarez might be concerned, CL footie, it may be enough.

Actual questions outside of wum baiting: a sensible Arsenal fan response would be nice rather than the nonsense poster back for more today:

How much money do Arsenal actually have spare? I've heard 70M I've heard 120M but seen no evidence that this is the case in their spending patterns. In fact when one of the owners starts saying he hasn't been allowed to fund transfers (bluff or not) It makes you wonder why they would suddenly spend the vast majority of that money on one player in one go. And you are breaking the proudly advertised and carefully cultured wage structure in place, so I assume every quality player to join after him would want the same pay or more. If not then you obviously aren't going for more world class players to drive you on, just that one. If so then you are unravelling everything put in place over the last decade. maybe thats the point maybe Arsenal now consider it a failed project after the majority of that time resulting in no silverware?

I mean say we said yes to the 40M and for him to move he gets the rumoured 150K a week. Over a 4 year contract the total spend on Suarez would be 71M? yes?

If we force them up to 50M fee its 81M. Now I know nothing about the FFP only that it runs over a 3 year cycle that we are in year 2 or 3 of. Do they have enough money after this sale to then do what some Arsenal fans believe and add more players of the same level to actually compete and keep said players happy. If not then you're gambling on 4th both paying for those extra players and keeping St Luis happy all with his performances alone. (again, going on the idea he's a reformed character that won't be in front of an FA sick of the sight of him and who soley based on his previous cases upped the punishments on various offences while, might I remind you warning him about his future conduct which means a hell of a bigger ban than he's got so far next time.) It's one of the reasons sadly I want him gone; his next ban will be very very long.

If you keep going with this its one hell of gamble on a player who while brilliant is so erratic he can not be considered anything other than a liability. I mean if it goes wrong, you could be in serious trouble from top to bottom.

We have not officially stated what funds are available but Tim Payton of the Arsenal Shareholders' Trust has claimed that we have over £100M in CASH to spend this Summer if needs be, and can place up to 4 new signings on wages of around £130K-£150K. He said that we can spend up to £50M on Suarez but we hope to get him for less.

I haven't rubbed anybody's nose in anything. I have had sensible discussions on here over the last few days which is why I am confused over all the sudden childish hostility.

If you're given it to spend you mean? We all know you have money.
