Aye, but then that's always the case. If both parties are happy you can sign a one year contract every year for as long as you like.

    Pardew > Messi.

In terms of contract length anyway <ok>

The other poster was using the CL as a reason why he might have stayed, I was merely making the point that they were already out of it, & highlighting the other reasons why he probably fancied a move away from there.

None of which equates to 'bitter jealousy', but don't let simple facts get in the way of yet another knuckle dragging rant.

    I wouldn't take £100m for him, let alone £40m.

Thing is £40m is only speculation anyway and if and when he does want to move on, we'll just get on with it like we have when all the other great players have left. I also don't like the idea of keeping a player who doesn't want to be there.

People saying he will leave if we don't get CL soon need to remember he had CL football at Ajax - who qualified while he was still there and after he left - so it doesn't look like a 'major' factor for his desire to leave a club - although I'm sure he will want to get back to playing at the highest level (ie CL) sooner rather than later. Reports from Ajax were that he loved the game, was always first back after holidays, trained longer than the others etc. so maybe he isn't a player who is motivated by money like so many others. He was reportedly on £28k at Ajax and on £30k when he joined us!

Don't try & put words in my mouth or claim to understand my 'intentions' (lol), as you're not very good at it Petty Officer Dave.

Shame you're that hate filled & twisted that you can't take any comment from me at face value. (not that I'm arsed like)

Bale is apparently valued at 60million, the **** has he even done other than his much hyped demolition of an aging and declining Inter.
I don't see Suarez leaving this summer(not for 40mill!!), he woudn't have signed a contract otherwise, wasn't even the least bit hesitant about it.
But ofcourse if another summer goes by, bringing in Sinclair and Routledge for 40 million, he's better off elsewhere.

This summer would be crucial if we are having any hope of keeping him. FSG needs to invest heavily, i assume there would be atleast 40million to spend. I just hope BR gets his targets right atleast this time around.

Don't let Spurs fans see that post mate.

According to them Suarez is only good because we built a team around him, and he's no better than Darren Bent <doh>

We haven't got on with it though. We still haven't really replaced Alonso or Mascherano. Or Hyypia. We struggled to replace Torres's goals for a long time.

And if you want to go further back than that we haven't replaced John Barnes or Steve McManaman and they both left over 15 years ago!!!!

£40mil is not even close to the price imo. Dont forget there is a ******ed Russian around that paid £50mil for Torres the donkey.

Oh yes, the only thing Gareth Bale has done in his career is two good games against Inter.

Not like he has consistently been one of the premier league's best players over the last 2 years.

Jesus, some people are so blinkered when it comes to football I don't know why they bother.

We have 'got on with it'. The club didn't disappear did it? We haven't replaced like for like - you are 100% correct.

We still haven't replaced Roger Hunt <laugh>

    or

    Shankly <ok>

But we have got on with it.

Be really suprised If Suarez left LFC seams well happy there? I suppose It depends weather Guardiola wants to tap him up and turn him?

I would think he has big spending plans at Bayern and Suarez won't be the only big name target to turn them Into the new Barca though...

Well he's probably done as much as Ashley Young or Nani has over the years. I don't rate him as a 60million player. Only a deluded fan would think so.
It's the media that makes him look like the next Ronaldo, he's not even half the player Ronaldo is.

    What a lame article.

You seem so easy to roll over.

    Nobody has said anything.

For the record we should hold onto him should a bit come in at all costs.

Those two ar good, effective yet inconsistent team players. Gareth Bale is a match winner.

Massive difference between those 2 and Bale.

I don't think anyone wants him to leave.

I don't understand those who say so readily, take the money and buy other players but I'm guessing that while I don't hold that particular view, the whole Torres debacle changed the loyalty balance that exists between players and fans and for some, they don't want to place too much faith in a players loyalty to the club.

    Once bitten, twice shy!

Ofcourse he's a top player, but not 'world class', and wouldn't put him in the 60million bracket. Suarez, RVP, Aguero are what i'd call world class.
I for one think he tries too hard to imitate Ronaldo and at time fails miserably.
I've got nothing against him, but just hate it when the media pounces on one good performance and makes a legend out of it. He tries too hard but sometimes completely drifts out of games, like against us in the 2nd half or the United game where he was almost non-existent.

He has the same consistency problems as Nani and Young. And doesn't really boast stats that would blow one's mind either.

PS : Different opinions mate, let's just leave it at that <ok>
