Ronaldo, Nani, classic examples of bad sportsmanship, vey sad that they are hugely talented and don't need to play this way. Perhaps they should recieve awards for it at one of these footballer of the year awards, and give them a bit of humiliation in front of their fellow professionals.

If Tom Daley changes sporting careers then I want him at Newcastle.

    He's world class.

at least pardew didn't pull a wenger and deny it (or seeing it!)

at the end of the day theres a million cameras on you when on the pitch you can't lie as there'll be videos of a player from a dozen angles that will tell the truth. you just make yourself look like a knob by trying to deny it.

That would be a great idea...

Imagine "And the award for the biggest diver and cheat of the season goes to Nani"...

Or a monthly award a bit like player of the month.... "This month Luis Suarez wins diver of the month"...commiserations Louis....

Well at the end of this season we can do yet another poll, plenty categories, serial diver, most dramatic diver, the refs not protecting me diver, we seem to be rather fond of polls on here. No award given out though, just named and shamed.

I would love to see the PFA diver of the year award as voted for by their fellow professionals. i reckon it would go someway to perhaps making them think twice.

I would hate to have Suarez at Newcastle. We have a great team ethic and to be fair, what sort of signal does it send out if you have a player throwing a strop if he comes off or if someone doesn't pass to him...
It would be against the new work ethic at NUFC if he was here, he would "have" to start and what message would that give players like Sammy Ameobi, Haris Vuckic, Dan Gosling etc?

" And the winner of the LTF diver of the year trophy goes to Nani "

" Mr. Nani you cheating bastard, would you like to come forward and collect this splendid trophy which truly epitomises your contibution to our wonderful game, be careful of the steps we'd hate you to fall over "

He wouldn't have to start. He would earn his place in the starting 11.

In training he is apparently exceptional. Gerrard said in all his days playing the two players that he has seen train the hardest are Carragher and Suarez. So I think he earns his place rather than automatically gets it.

Also the strops with players when they don't pass etc isn't necessarily a bad thing as it just highlights his enthusiasm for the game. Away from match days he enhances team spirit and is supposed to be a right character. Also all the training pictures that I see are Suarez joking and laughing with all the team. So I wouldn't agree with your point, although I understand why you said it as you probably only see him on match days.

Suarez is the worst diver since Klinsmann. But his gamesmanship using racism, hands etc is the worst since maradona.

If liverpool want to succeed in markets like Asia where they respect decent values they should sell him soon. Reckon standard chartered will be disgusted. And they Can forget the African Market now

He's had a good teacher in Gerrard. In the box you just need to breath on him. Fact.

On a casual board(/bored!) hopping tour, and unfortunately came across the Suarez vs Evra thread on the Liverpool section. Absolutely disgraceful comments by a number of users, thankfully partially balanced by some sane remarks.

There is no place for racism in football, and any footballer or fan indicating that such behaviour is acceptable should be punished by banishment. Why is the football field a place for playground tactics? Flucking play the game and get on with it! Some people seem content to play the argument, "we can abuse players in anyway we like, but we can't be racist? That's a bit stupid"... Outrageous... And that's just the fact these numbskulls have been allowed to survive to contaminate the gene pool...

Hopefully Suarez is not guilty, because stooping to that level disgraces the paying customers and spits on everyone else. There should be no leniancy if he is found to have done what Evra has alleged. Jail would not be inappropriate.

Why would I want any future kids involved with a game that endorses such an attitude amongst the public or the immediate environment (ie the pitch).

The award can be 10 minutes in a locked room with Tioté, that'll sort them out (if they survive).

I think routine diving crept into the game about 15-20 years ago and the problem is that younger fans and players have grown up with it and many think it's the normal way the game is played and think it's perfectly acceptable to gain an advantage by any means possible.
As Sky says (don't humour him with the "sir" business), money seems to be the root of this as everyone wants to win at all costs, so there's little pressure on the divers from their managers or team-mates to jack it in.
As an LFC fan, I love Suarez because he brings so much to our game, but I would quite happily see him and all the other divers punished every time if we could eliminate it from the game.
Diving and play-acting, claiming throws when you know the ball came off you, waving imaginary cards to get someone booked and being gobby to the ref are all things we could do without imo.
Is it too late too change it?- well, the longer it goes on the harder it'll get as those of us who remember when players kicked lumps out of each other without flinching, and jumped over tackles, become more of a dying breed.
The idea of shaming them is a good one, make them see how pathetic they look when they fall over after a tap and roll about in apparent agony. It would be good if they could remember they're supposed to be men playing a man's game and be ashamed of looking like a bunch of fairies.
Somehow I can't see it happening though.
