Never said that wasn't the case. In fact, I said similar a couple of days ago and gave C.Ronaldo as an example; winning trophies including the CL with Man Utd but wanted to join Real.

 

Its called realism. I said a deal would be reached and I said he would get a big pay increase to encourage either a higher release clause or remove said clause completely.

I've heard its £160k pw for the rest of this season and £200k pw thereafter.

I'm confident he'd be more than happy to continue playing for us if we qualify for CL, if we win the title, it's a no brainer. Dead certain he'd ignore Madrid.

Let's put it into perspective, he's idolized by the supporters, the unrivaled star player in the team and playing in the best league(as mentioned by him)

why would he sacrifice all that just to go share the limelight with Ronaldo, Bale et al.
I think that would be a huge factor, if he's able to fulfill his ambitions here, he would more than happily stay here.

I honestly think the reason he pushed for a move last summer was because we weren't showing any progression and a player of his caliber deserves to be playing CL footy, he wasn't really brimming at the prospect of Lining up with Ronaldo or bumlicking him as Bale has been throughout, he just wanted CL football.

And most importantly I just don't see how Madrid would be able to come with that sort of cash. Anything less the 80mil would be laughed off, and with their debt neck high, i really don't see them coming with such silly money right after their recording breaking bale deal.

 

Great news of course, we got top money for him if he does go and even better if he stays

He could hit a dip in form as well obv!

He has stated before he wants to play for Madrid and even if we the title these South American players love it in Spain. Not to mention his wifes family being there and all the obvious, warmer climate and that

Imo he stays with us if we get cl/title/win cups so long as Madrid dont come in for him

Hopefully Madrid will turn their attentions to Aguero

Suarez clearly said when he joined us that his dream was to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona. Being idolised by fans didn't stop him leaving Ajax, don't kid yourself that going to one of those two clubs wouldn't be a step up (in his eyes). As I just said above, C.Ronaldo won trophies with Man Utd including the CL and he was idolised by their fans too but his dream was to play for Real Madrid.

Anyway, I want to move on as this is putting a downer on what is some fantastic news for the club

 

To be honest I think Aguero would suit them better. They have Ronaldo et al. to do all the trickery and play making. They just need someone to say up top and keep putting the ball in the onion sack.

 

I agree with this but would Aguero join them having played for A.Madrid?

The momentum is crucial. Should this Christmas period be very successful, I really hope Henry supports Rodgers and pushes a 1 or 2 quality signings through.
