At the end of the day with the Suarez and Evra incident it is basically just one mans word against the other, only Suarez will know if he meant what he said in an offensive way and only Evra will know if it genuinely was offended. The key point I think in it, as with any insult be it racial or otherwise, is the tone of voice in which it was said. I could go along to somebody I know when he does something stupid and call him a ****ing idiot with a grin on my face and he will most likely not be offended, but if I shouted it at him after the same incident he would take the same comment in a completely different way.

And as I say nobody heard it apart from Evra and Suarez so its just one mans word against anothers.

One thing that strikes me about all of this, is the fact that there is still racism in the English game. I mean, it's 2011 for goodness sake. Surely times have moved on from the 70s and 80s, it's a real shoker to be perfectly honest.

Another point about Terry is that the FA have kind of dodged a bullet with it by sending it to the CPS. Terry now has to go to court and face a judge who can inprison him, fine him, give him a suspended sentence or make him do community service. What the judge can't do is ban him from playing football, not without the FA's permission. I think Terry will get a fine and community service and the FA will say something along the lines of "thats punishment enough" and not give him a football ban.

Although I have heard that the maximum fine for somebody charged with the offence that Terry is is £2500, so about 3 hours work for Terry, not sure if this is true though.

As qwerty said earlier, because a complaint was made by a member of the public directly to the police, the case was passed to the CPS. No other body/agency may become involved until that has run its course. Regardless of the outcome of that, the FA will have to take action in addition or become guilty of the worst case of double standards ever seen. I think Mr Terry is in for a very long spell on the sidelines.

They had to charge him!! Otherwise Fergie (the total C**t) would have got angry and complained and probably would have been handed the premier league title as compensation. And you think I'm joking!!

Whilst not a fan of any kind of racism (good job married to a black Portuguese 'Bird' <----maybe I'm sexist. lol) I cannot help but think of a convenient co-incidence here.

1 - The FA (rightly so) are most definitely at war with Sepp Blatter (and FIFA to an extent)
2 - Sepp Blatter says he doesn't think there is racism in football, just banter and it should be solved with a handshake
3 - The FA take 2 cases, publicise them even further making them very very high profile and then say handshake? This is what you should do.

This punishment of course is undeniably going to be 'applauded' by others and therefore makes Blatter's comments even more ridiculous.

Maybe I read too much into it but the timing is very very convenient. All this lot has blown up since Russia & Qatar (those 2 famous footballing nations) 'won' rights to host world cups. Rightly so of course with Russia's fine record of zero racism and Qatar's fine history of football and burgeoning football league :)'

Not every team has the togetherness that ours does. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chelsea players never speak to each other outside of work.

There is very little rascism in english football now,how can there be?Black players practically run the game now, without them football would be a very different game...Let's look at things with a bit more clarity,Terry plays in a team packed full of black players, what about Anton Ferdinand? He might of said something rascist to Terry.

The police would have picked up on something like that <doh>

There is evidence, enough to prosecute JT! That in my and most people's eyes indicates that he has been racist, otherwise their wouldn't have been charges and they wouldn't have him prosecuted <doh>

Just like Blatter proved he's not racist by hugging a black man on camera...

Yeah Blatter did that so people would think he wasn't a rascist(obviously)unlike Terry, who didn't do that just to show people he wasn't rascist, this was taken in 2007(I think) he is good friends with Ashley Cole as well. What about Ferdinand? He might of said something rascist to Terry,if that had been the other way round Ferdinand would get away with it.
