Taking the piss? Me? Surely not Man City may chose to stump up (although that would be £100m), they clearly don't give a **** about FFP. PSG too.
A non mod thread creator can if you edit the title before someone posts on it. This means nothing anyway, it only means as things stand. I do like that he says there is no clause, but he did say"no clause to sell to a particular team" but there may be a clause for a price amount. lets see, if he has a blinding WC I think we will face a struggle to keep him.
I think Suarez is a better player than Costa but given the option of Luis at £70m or Diego at £32m, I'd go for the latter in your guys shoes.
Thats why I said consider and not sell but I dont think we will get away with it again this year I reckon the contract is pretty airtight this time. I think it only comes down to 4 teams that would want and afford him. Which is Real, PSG, City and Chelsea. Cant see Barca having the money or wanting him.
Surely matching the release clause only gives them leave to approach and discuss terms with him? So unless it's someone he wants to go to, he might still stay put. But it's Suarez, so who knows what he'll say or do next? He might go to Mansfield.
He's fine, Saint. We love his salty language and bombastic nature ... as much as he loves ... On topic: agree with RHC that it's RM or no-one!
Both Suarez and JH will be sitting contentedly at the moment. Suarez has his contract, CL football next season and is wanted by the club he plays for. Liverpool have a world class player. Whatever the true buy out figure is/are (remember Suarez only said that the figure did not "favour" any other club) it's going to be a lot of money. So who can afford him: Real. However, with their record of financial profligacy I sure that UEFA will be keeping an eye on their dealings with regard to FFP. Barca. Can they afford him? I listened to three Spanish sports commentators the other night discussing Barca. The consensus was that after this coming season Barca would be like a clean sheet of paper ie they would have to completely re-build. If so then Suarez may well be of interest to them. PSG. They already have UEFA's beady eyes on them with regard to FFP and £70 million+ might not be a wise move at the moment. Bayern. I don't know. Considering all of the above my bet (I have to say that I don't bet!) would be that we will have him for at least another season. But if he goes then we have the funds to buy suitable replacement(s). All in all it's a win:win
If Real or Barca come knocking, he will go. No one else bar PSG will match the release clause IMO. PS...he's already been to Mansfield but he decided to play basketball instead
