oh... excuse me.... imo we currently occupy 3rd because as I said before..... IMO the other 5/6 teams with better squads have started slow and/or going through transition and i agree that reputation and cost do not decide position but squad strength over 38 games will and for that reason title talk is..... and I don't mean to be a wum here but.... deluded imo
Behave Dave , there's 1 point between 2nd & 7th. The fact that you currently sit 3rd & not the 5th he suggests is probably nearer your level, is merely down to GD. At this point in the season, I think you've done better than last time out, but you've been beaten by the only 2 sides out of the top 7 that you've played thus far. If you're still in the top 4 post Xmas, then I think you could realistically say you're in with a great shout, but now is still far too soon, as your fixture list has been very kind thus far.
Not saying I don't agree with you, but we did have our chances against the arse. Score one and it's a different game.
It's not so much that he missed - it's the fact that he looked so uncomfortable, afraid to run with the ball, and his shot was pathetic.
Don't know if this has been pointed out,but a quick glance over the top flight finishes list and there is a glaring mistake. In 2001/2002 we finished 2nd behind Arsenal and ahead of Man Utd who were in third.
we did indeed, especially hendos early opportunity but our non existent midfield will show in the table before the January window I'm certain, if we are in touching distance by then then of course it's a possiblity but I don't see it myself tbh
And the fact he just fell over when he passed it to their keeper Its like his legs gave way because he'd just run the length of the half. Dodgy knees? (im only joking) Score then its a totally different game. Hope he got some stick off the lads for it and a good bollocking from Rodgers
As an interjection, this thread was posted on the manc board by christiansmith. Quite a few of you won't know who he is, but I've lost count of how many times, in whatever order, I've seen the words Scouser, thick and deluded in sentences posted by him on it. He really is very special needs. Back to the OP...................
We certainly cocked up against the toon. We really should have won that. On balance, Arsenal deserved the win, but it could have been very different.
I think we need a couple more shrewd January signings to even get top 4, we simply don't have the depth at the moment, let alone that some of our starting 11 arent top 4 standard
Rodgers will address the midfield - if we can really crack that or get lucky with the signings (another Coutinho/Sturridge) then we will have enough to get top 4. Our attack and defence are very good (on paper at least) - just need to complete the jigsaw.
I'm with Foredeck on this one, stronger squads on paper count for nothing if your not doing the business on the pitch. We have started ok and deserve to be where we currently are. There is no shame in getting beaten by the top of the table team at their own place. We do have the potential to make top four, and who knows, maybe higher.January window may play a part.
Compare it to when he put it away at the emirates last year. The free kick was the turning point for me.
