Why would you be using words of affection to a player on the opposite team? (Minds on football here). I know some players have a habit of saying weird stuff to knock the concentration (sledging in cricket) but to me it's a lame attempt at trying to nullify something he knows is wrong. If he is guilty he needs more than a three match ban. If he is innocent then Evra needs to face the consequences.

Racism is bad on both sides (and it does happen on both sides - numerous black TV presenters have been censured for using "white trash") but whites using it against blacks carries greater significance due to the whole slavery deal.

If Suarez used Evra's skin colour in anger, then he deserves to be punished. Just as if Evra had used Suarez's.

I live in a place in the west midlands, it's been about a fortnight since I saw a white person round here. We're pretty quiet but the rest of them are the most English hating Kuran preaching vile insignificvnts. We have an 11 year old who actually can't go out to play (til' we get a move) this year there was a group of muslims who sexually abused and tied a naked child to a tree at my local park. My girlfriends cousin was stabbed twice getting off a bus (the knob is showing his op scars off on facebook) and the misses ex was actually jumped a stone throw from here because he was ******ed enough to go and ask for an apology (if it where me I'd of hit him that hard he'd be thinking he was back with the camels.

I believe he's trying to point out the difference in tolerance between perceived racial and non racial insults. To me GR suggests the literal translation from Spanish to English of what Suarez allegedly said is different to that which people who want Suarez hung are suggesting. Evra is black, a description which is accepted in Britain; as is a hair colour of ginger or the terms fat/ugly. He then poses why, when suffixed with the word bastard, ginger and fat are accepted as a distasteful joke but black is beyond the worst thing anyone could say? They should all be treat with the same level of disgust. Imagine if Ron Atkinson had have said Paul Scholes is a useless ginger bastard? Slap on the wrist but still in a job.

But seriously he has played around europe long enough to know what he was saying was offensive and was using it in an agressive way and was caught saying it repeatedly. Had he said it once then mosy would have thought little of it.
The fact he is now trying to say he was usin it in an affectionate way is laughable, Liverpool Vs Man Utd no love lost there!!

It boils down to the fact the FA have the Show Racism The Red Card, so how ever it was meant they have to be seen to be making a statement. E.G Terry

For all I've read on the subject it does look to me like Evra was racially abused with the aim to unsettle his game. However most people understand in the media led world of sport in this country only select bits of information make the headlines to create a selling story. IF Evra made up the allegation then that is out of order. Once suggested Suarez will always be viewed in some parts as a racist, even if he never said anything of the sort. Emre is a case in point. Whilst he was found not guilty he still carries the mark against him.

No it will say that you should own up when you have done something wrong and better yourself, that you will always have a chance to better yourself. If you then prove to have not learned your lesson (he does it again), then he is punished heavily.
