Was just reading through the N'Zogbia article poolie_mackem posted ( http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/n...rbour-charles-n-zogbia-doubts-61634-28905759/ ) and the bit that really caught my eye is on page 2..

United could also land Chelsea’s England Under-21 striker Daniel Sturridge, although the £10m needed to sign him has put an end to negotiations for the time being. Should Chelsea be successful in their pursuit of the Brazilian Neymar, however, talks will resume later in the window.

10m? I'd say if the mags are balking at that then now's your chance Brucey, no messing around, offer it and get him in asap! Could just be lazy journalism of course.. Thoughts?
 
Keep this quiet but if Chelsea fancy Gyan could we do a deal and swap him for Sturridge plus cash. Put the cash with the Henderson money and give it to SAF for Welbeck and we have a young, new and lethal front line. Bring in Ngog and a Boothroyd/DJ Campbell type and we have options.

There again we may well have a Gyan/Kgog front 2 so worry over.

Or how about a straight swap Gyan for Sturridge?

Wonder what peoples views on that would be..
 
I think me and Syd have said this the other day but Sturridge and Welbeck looked a good partnership for the under 21's (Welbeck especially) and I'd happily take them both. 2 young lads with a whole lot to prove and a fire in their belly but I'd like to see Crouch in as well, as the elder statesman and mentor.

Gyan is a quality player but lets face it, he isnt going to be around for much longer so lets use his good name to negotiate and good deal. I like the thought that has DJ Campbell on the bench to add a battering ram if we need to change things.

but I would love all 3, we have plenty of money why not go for both Welbeck and Strurridge and look at progressing instead of letting one quality player go to get another.

Bottom line if we want top 8 next season we need all 3, or 3 with that much quality.

I like Gyan but IMHO he is using us as a stepping stone.

I keep sounding like a miserable old cynic, but for the club to show intent is going to take money. Either in wages or signing on fees.

Sad as it is All players now, are out for the best deal for themselves, it's no longer about football.

The top teams can attract players by their status, sadly that isn't the case with SAFC.
 
would love Sturridge, I can remember before Benty left I put an article on the 606 board saying we should cash in and go for Sturridge onloan. First of all I got slated for saying get rid of the god at the time Benty but the main bit that Sturridge was rubbish, couldn't hit a barn door etc.

Would love a Sturridge/Welbeck partnership for us with Wickham n N'Gog as back up
 
Gyan for Sturridge plus money would be a great move. We could use that money, plus money from Bent to pay for Welbeck, but I don't think that Chelsea will let him go to our club for peanuts.
 
I would have Sturridge for 10 million in a heartbeat. Don't let the mags beat us to another forward Brucie. Just put in the right offer and no messing about!
