Because he was injured when they signed him. We could easily say "Michael Owen was inform for Liverpool!" Doesn't matter. Liverpool took a massive gamble signing Carroll for £35M during his first real injury scare of his career. So technically he wasn't in form, to be in form you have to play. And he wasn't.

But at the time he was expected to be back shortly as it was expected to be a minor injury. Regardless the point I was making was that they were following Citys example in signing possibly good English players for ridiculous fees.

Have to say i'm well chuffed we've so far signed three players for less than a quarter of Jordan Henderson (not including wages of course). Lovely stuff.

At the time he was going to Sweden to get surgery on his ankle!

But yes they're following City's example, just not doing a very good job of it! The players we've signed are class, they're young and packed with potential and we have barely paid a penny! <ok>

with all due respect how are we not doing a good job of it? aside form Carroll & Hendo we have brought in Martin Kelly who has forced Englands first choice right back out of position, Spearing who has shown himself to be more useful then the Denmark captain and Flanagain who has shown himself to be a superb prospect at 18 years old with his performances when we were ripped apart with injury.

Our "Young English" project has been going for 6 months and had the season started in January and ended in May we'd have finished 2nd - thats hardly the sign of failure

    That's your youth prospect mate.

I'm speaking about these big money signings that Liverpool are doing which is a lot like City is doing, in the terms of these youth players you're bringing in I can't fault Dalglish! <ok>

We signed Ben Arfa for £5M..not £35M..Not such a huge gamble.

It's like betting a £1 in the bookies while your mate bets £100..

It's till £1 though, that £1 could've went on something useful, if the gamble pays off you win, if the gamble doesn't you don't win and you also lose that money.

Not that you could buy anything useful wth £1 these days.

Ridiculously overrated little ****. One of the biggest divers in the Premier League, alongside Adam Johnson, although no-one ever seems to pick up on it.

That's not an actual price or anything, just a predicted price I think Liverpool would actually pay! Could most likely will be wrong <ok>

It's Liverpool. They bought Henderson for £20 million and Amy for £35.. Wouldn't be surprised if they buy Perch and Ameobi in a double swoop for £40 mill.

That we've bought an injured Ben Arfa for £5 million and if he doesn't come back the player he was, then we have pretty much wasted £5 million on a wasted talent.
