Brilliant news at last a more dependable stopper for us to call on (https://www.safc.com/news/academy-news/2018/january/max-stryjek-recalled) This could be the change of fortune needed for the club EDIT also seems that we may be loaning Chris Martin - although underwhelmed I remember being underwhelmed when we signed Neil Martin (older fans memories) but he did get goals and saved us from relegation Any views ?
As you might have seen on here I've been banging this drum for a while, I'd be willing to stick my neck out and say he'll be the best keeper we've got. Well done Coleman.
It may be that it is felt that only getting three games at Stanley is doing little for his development. He may be being brought back simply to be sent to somewhere where he will get more experience. We MIGHT also draw the conclusion that they, Accrington, don't consider him good enough for a regular first team spot. Perhaps they have a very good keeper in place? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Given the shoite that the club are in at the moment, I don't think such thoughts will be too high in priority
It'd make a lot more sense if he'd been brought back to replace Mika, so that Coleman can judge him in person.
The fact that he only played 3 times for Accrington is a little mis-leading. He got injured shortly after his loan started and was out for some time. I haven't seen a lot of him but what I have seen indicates that he is, at least equal to and probably better than, the other two. He's only 21 so will make mistakes but he'll learn and get better.
I think the general view is give him a go and as KM pointed out he's been injured for most of his loan. Let him reap the reward now as he was rated as good as if not better than Pickford at his age. Fortune favours the brave for me - get him in.
If he can do two things, save shots that you'd expect any keeper to save, and use his size to avoid getting bullied, he'll be an upgrade. Anything else would be a bonus.
Didn't one time we gave a 21 year old by the name of Mignolet ago? He didn't turn out too bad.....get the lad in goal....will be great for the club as another youngun tried.....
Same here, Coleman isn't afraid of throwing young players in. Doesn't have much choice really. I gather he's not been impressed with Ruiter and it goes without saying that Steele is dire.
Not so sure about Ruiter been adiquate He’s probably better than steel But this styreke needs a chance we have nothing to loose Give him a game see how he performes
Give him a go! If he does well he's either a like a new signing or another salable asset. If he's crap we won't notice the difference. My username is the only thing Ruiter and Steele have contributed this season....
