My point exactly Clingo, after all they are athletes and that is what the Olympics are all about. As I said earlier in the thread, you have the barbarians and the British lions who tour far more regularly than the Olympics and there isn't this fuss. Sad to say I think in the footballing world it boils down to money. All the different associations get money from FIFA and UEFA and rightly so, any perceived threat to that cash flow will be debated with vigour.

I agree with pretty much the whole of this but surely it's not just about the money. If someone asked "what is the number 1 sport in Britain with regards to participation/attendance/interest/financially?" the answer has to be football. To not have home representation of our number 1 sport in 'our' olympics would be ridiculous IMO.
Away from this post, why we (Wales) need to ban our best players for wanting to be a part of it I'm really not very sure. I don't see how a one off GB team means FIFA or anyone else can demand the end of our 4 independant football nations. Would England (a top 10 ranked team) want that?!?
I'll watch Team GB and I'll support it, but I will support England, Scotland, NI and the Republic if they're not playing Wales.
After 2 weeks it will all be forgotten about and we can just get back to normal, unless Wales ban our best young players meaning we'd suffer the consequences of our our actions for a generation. Can anyone explain to me how that will help Welsh football?

SKM: "bombarding me with messages "

Two. <doh> Until then you had no idea what was being put up by Aber on your own board.

Glad to see you took notice though. Well done on the drug video. <ok> Let's leave it at that.

Steve: We should all be proud of the Welsh contingent. No mean for such a small country. That's my take. Talk of banning these great players is small minded and embarrassing. But unfortunately typical.
