He probably won't actually be available on a free, he is technically about to become a free agent, but it looks fairly likely that Stoke will offer him a new deal, though as far as I know they haven't yet.

Ah, so he's available on a free but probably won't actually be available on a free.

To be fair, even if they had just released him, there'd be Premier League interest anyway.

Suspect if Gayle leaves Palace it will be for Bournemouth. I would have thought that Palace would try and shift chip wrapper Fraizer Campbell.

IMO,, Bruce will hang fire for a while on new strikers. See what is around.

With what we have already in the squad there is no rush.

100% and it's the right thing to do. Once other clubs bring in players then existing ones will be surplus. Unless all 3 of ours go early then I think we might even have to wait until a loan on deadline day.

I have actually just seen on Twitter that they're in talks, so the snooker club were right on this one.

SSN had it after they broke the news of the Swindon 2.

Officially it cannot happen until July 1st.

We need to be realistic about the level of strikers available to Hull City as opposed to other clubs.

We are looking at strikers who are either too old or too average (at best) for the Prem. who would consider dropping into the Championship.
These players would cost a lot in wages (and possibly fees) and IMO they wouldn't have the hunger to succeed that we need.

We are looking at unearthing a prolific striker from the continent who no-one else has noticed for bugger-all money.
As unlikely as this is it is even less likely that they could adapt quickly to the style of Championship football.

We are looking at the best strikers coming up from the lower divisions or Scotland.
These type of players would be hungry, probably younger (better investment) and would see City as being a fair bet for getting to the Prem. Not all would have the right potential to make the step up, but players like Austin and Deeney prove that good Championship strikers can rise up through the leagues.

Yeah I hope not too. I just think there's a good chance it'll happen if we're left with at least 1 of Jelavic, N'Doye and Hernandez.

He scored 20 in 39 games the season before (half on loan at Milwall). Most of appearances in the promotion season were form the bench.

He'll certainly score goals in the championship but he gets out-muscled too much for a man of his stature. Could use a bit more aggression in his game.

As Liverpool have Sturridge already and with Origi and Ings incoming - would the evergreen Lambert be available on loan?

Has a great record at this level, would be good if we could get him.
