Don't know if you saw the Scottish Cup final, but the young lad Will Vaulks for Falkirk looks a real prospect. He plays a CB but in the final he played CM and was a constant threat.
This guy is probably worth a shout - think Bruce should get in there before he becomes a household name
Swap you're David Brown for Andy Brown Scotland for me is the key, as long as you don't come back with an Andy Brown !
Clayton Donaldson actually scored 15 last season....could be worth a go. I'd go for Kenwyne Jones though, was on loan at Bournemouth, not sure if they'll take him permanently? If not i'd give that a try. If not maybe Dicko from Wolves or Joe Garner from Preston who got 25 last season.
We could do a short loan for a striker from the MLS in January perhaps Obafemi Martin, Wondo, or Dempsey might be willing to do a short loan. I dont think we could probably afford to sign them (the transfer + wages + their age), but we might be able to pick them up for a bit. There are others who are a lot younger that we could actually buy but it would be a very real risk spending lots on someone who is unproven and if I was going to take a risk it wouldnt be from the MLS.
He doesn't score for fun in any league, his record season was 11 goals, he only scored 4 in 26 games in Leicester's promotion season.
I assume you've never heard of the situation with Nigerian passports and ages? It's widely assumed now that Jay Jay Okocha was 44 when he played for us. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2010/feb/21/nigerian-football-age-old-problem The actual opening line of this article says Martins is 7 years older than he claims.
I have no idea regarding potential striker signings but what I would hope is that, at least for once, they are scouted properly and suit a 3-5-2 formation, because let's face it Bruce is very unlikely to change it. If not it's simply going to be same old, same old, a previously performing striker being dragged down to a certain level of ****ness. Whilst I'm on the subject of 3-5-2 I have to say that I'm concerned that opposition managers will do the same as those in the PL did last year and totally nullify our scoring threat. For me until something changes with this ridiculous tactic of playing 3-5-2 in EVERY game then no striker is going to stand a chance of scoring 20+ goals in a season.
Hope to god, its not another season of kick and hope, that would just about kill any support off, I still have for SB and as for strikers SB has to get it right this time, because if he doesn't I can see city playing in front of 12-15000 by the end of the season and him gone, we really need a good season on so many front's.
Peter Odemwingie, Jon Walters and Carlton Cole are all available on frees, if they can be persuaded to drop to the Championship. Odemwingie would also have to be persuaded to stop being a ****er.
Walters? I'm really surprised by that. Isnt he a complete mainstay of Stoke's first XI? He set the record for consecutive appearances or something didnt he? Well if we could get him he'd be brilliant in a 3-5-2 as he's prepared to run the full width and channels. Stick a poacher alongside him and we win the league. It's a ****ing massive if, granted, but if he would drop down then surely it would only be to us. Edit - where have you seen / heard this about Walters? I cant find it anywhere.
