Spurs are rumoured to be going to splash out again in Jan for a TOP striker and another Centreback. I know they have the Bale money (or rather had) but they are usually quite frugal when it comes to balancing the books. Whilst Levy is usually very good at maximizing the fees for his assets, I would have thought they would be keen to offload some of the old fringe players. I see it's being rumoured that Defoe is going back to West Ham. Not surprised at that. I reckon that would be his first choice closely followed by the MLS.
Maybe there's a chance that they'll do a deal with us on Livermore, if we also take Adebayor of their hands?
Jordan Rhodes is the best goal scorer outside of the PL and maybe better than some inside the PL if given a chance to show it. This could well happen in Jan. Give it a rest ffs. You said the same thing about him @ Spurs. Your anti-Nick hissy fitting is getting tedious. Agreed. Why would it ? That is what many said about Hudds and Livers. SB is always good for something special out of the hat. Yes it would. Both should hbave got to the byline and drilled in low centres. The ball can go in off anyone by doing that. Basics of the game. Steve Bruce told Matt Dean on saturday sport. No names though. Dont rule it out. With the prize money on offer Hull City could easily afford both Rhodes and Defoe(even on loan) from a top 12 league finish. Nice try if possible. Long will be much cheaper in Jan especialy if he wont sign another contract with WBA. Yeah right as if you know. We shall all just have to wait and see what happens. But ^^^^ this, Utter clap trap.
We've spent eight figures on new players, we have a £39m wage bill and we already have an £11m deficit for this season, the money is spent and that's not my opinion, it's what Assem said.
Sounds like we might have to sell in order to buy? SB will need to do some wheeling + dealing come January
No one in their right mind would sanction further buying when we have the likes of McLean, Fryatt, Prosie, Cairney, Stewart which all need to start playing for us or be shipped off elsewhere. Getting rid of them will be the priority IMO.
I don't think we need loads of new player in January - said single striker will do for me + hopefully SB will get the right man
Assem said on Friday that this is our biggest problem, a problem that all promoted clubs have, everyone gets Premier League promotion wages and you get stuck with Championship players on Premier League money. He pointed out that this would be remedied at the end of this season with all the players except Prossy who has another year.
I say again, we were within half an hour of spending another £6m in the Summer. Why when we are looking promising for survival, would that money not now be available?
Maybe that deal was pulled due to us changing our payment plan ie. the whole lot in instalments maybe.
We are still planning on signing a striker in January, it's just that this is likely to be the only signing, unless we shift some of Mclean, Proschwitz, Stewart, Fryatt, Bruce, Cairney etc
Shift Bruce ...........LOL!! Let it go, for goodness sake, youre starting to sound like John Fenwick!!!
Now there's a name I haven't heard in a while. In fact I still haven't heard it in a while, but I have at least now read it recently.
The only way were getting rid of Bruce is if Paul Duffen heads a consortium to buy out a club and appoints Phil Brown as manager. And quick.
Maybe because it's not there anymore? Allam did say at some point earlier in the season that no more money would be available and he wouldn't be bailing us out anymore. We need to shift the deadwood and bring in a striker. Maybe a loan too if possible. People should also notice the personell we have in the striker position already; Proschwitz, Gedo, Graham, Fryatt, McLean and Sagbo are all trying to get into SB's plans (whether or not he'll let them is a different conversation entirely), so we shouldn't be signing another striker until we've offloaded McLean and Fryatt at least and hopefully Proschwitz on loan.
