Good team Col, maybe tomorrow you can put in Onouhu (sp!) and take out errr Ferdy! But hold on Samba?! Not just yet! Think you better put Ferdy back in again, or Gabbi!
Aaaaaaaaah. Got it. Personally, I would prefer Traore back where he's been playing..... Paddy Young Ferd Gabbidon Traore SWP Buz Taiwo Adel HH DJ ....would be my starting squad. We haven't got Samba yet, so I'll leave him out for now. And then bring on Barton/Derry for Buz, Bothroyd/Macheda for DJ or HH, and switch out whoever else as needed but consistently bring on the subs to keep them fresh and mixing it up. Of course it depends on how we play every match, but if we can somehow get into a rhythm of knowing who's always consistently coming in, then we can get into a flow.
I just wonder whether Craig Bellamy would fancy a chance of playing for MH in London...................... (however, have no idea how long his contract is with Liverpool or what salary he would command)
That's not bad either, although I'd find a place for Onouhu at left back and possibly put the Milan boy left midfield. TBH I'd prefer a 4-2-3-1 formation but I don't think MH will play that! Paddy Young Ferdinand Samba Onouhoooo Barton AN other or Buzz SWP Adel Taiwo HH Whatever, if we can get Samba and another midfielder, with possibly another striker we will be looking much, much stronger imo.
Actually.....having thought about it.....I don't like your team....not one holding midfielder. I think we'd be out-scored. In fact, the more I look at it the more I think that you can't be serious!!
I don't mean to make it look like a non-scoring team, that's for sure. I would like to have Buz and Adel move around each other in the middle and sideways, always providing the ball. Adel and Buz can hold the ball fine. I wouldn't look at it as a concrete, don't-move-from-formation type setting. I would set it up to go forward. The backline doesn't need to move too far afied, then. With SWP and Taiwo on the wings to overlap Buz and Adel, you won't need anybody else to come forward so much. Think of it as a Cross, "+" in the middle, that "diamond" thing, and not necessary to "hold" as we want to be releasing the strikers. We hold the ball too much mid-back and have lost it there too often. This way, we always have an outlet up-field. We have to be more in scoring positions rather than worrying about getting the ball out from the back.
4-2-3-1 is exactly what we don't want - it'll make us sit back and not have outlets to get the ball up field. We need to score, not hold it in the mid-back field.
Just seen Aston Villa are giving Heskey away, young hungry and won't need a work permit. Could be just what we are looking for.
Could have signed in august but chose Liverpool, that's unfortunately a non starter me thinks. Those words highlighted in bold should be clue enough for Sparky to stay the **** away!
