BRISTOL is very important to Cardiff City because it was founded by a man from St Mary Redcliffe,Bristol, his name Walter Bartley Wilson... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Bartley_Wilson.. It's like FIFA looking up to the English FA because they founded football that now is the most popular sport in the world,of course poor old Cardiff look up to us because a Bristolian gave them the chance to have their own football team and the FA for allowing them to play under the rules of the football association in England and Wales.
you mean 1st in the Rugby union championship http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/tables/4777167.stm
fair enough bcfc anyway wasnt there a substantial bid from leicester for maynard? anyone know roughly how much it was and will you regret not taking the money to help spearhead your promotion from league 1 next season?
He clearly wanted guaranteed Prem football which means he wont be with you next season, but then I suppose you're resigned to that anyway? Genuine question - with McInnes now in charge, do you see mid table as the best you'll achieve this year or would just avoiding the drop be enough?
Maynard to Cardiff ? Thats the dumbest thing I ever heard. And I thought you were after Iniesta... Talk about cloud cuckoo land
is he good enough for us? we need value for money as we've got miller who is pretty much undroppable, plus we usually play 4-5-1 so i dont really know if i'd want funds to be spent there.. as for cloud cuckoo land, surely you'd realise that if he was any good he'd be wanting to drop out of a ship slowly sinking towards league one!
The main point is are you good enough for him...? http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...championship/1316/65/maynard-will-onl...maybe not......... A Copy.... Nicky Maynard will only leave Bristol City for an instant crack at the Premier League. The in-form City striker, who has scored three goals in his past four matches, is out of contract at the end of the season. New manager Derek McInnes is desperate to keep Maynard at the club and another round of contract talks are planned soon. Everton and Fulham are rumoured to be interested in the 24-year-old and his head could be turned by interest from the Premier League. But talkSPORT understands if the Premier League pair fail to step up their interest, Maynard is happy to extend his stay at Bristol City in the hope he can reach the top flight with them. Championship rivals also have an eye on the situation but Maynard is willing to snub the chance to move elsewhere in the division. And McInnes hopes to have a resolution to the situation, saying: "As long as he is happy, scoring goals and sees us progressing, he would sign [for us]. "I want to work with players of his quality so hopefully we can sort something."
"But talkSPORT understands if the Premier League pair fail to step up their interest, Maynard is happy to extend his stay at Bristol City in the hope he can reach the top flight with them." Apart from talksport starting a sentence with "but" (terrible grammar), what the **** did you expect Maynard to say whilst he's still on your books?
why on earth do you trust that crap? think about it for one second and you'll realise that it is total bollox. why would everton sign an unproven championship striker when they just sold one because they're skint, and fulham? they have zamora, johnson, sa, but would jol be looking to the championship to solve his goal problem? i highly doubt it. are we good enough for him? i'd say he'd jump at the chance to play here, though i'd play miller over him every day of the week, and we have earnshaw who cant get in the team, so as i said i dont know if mackay would want to spend money in that area anyway
no offence to Cardiff sparkey but Maynard has openly said he dosent want to move to a championship side, as it would be a step sideways regardless of league position, even if Cardiff have a better chance of prem football its isn't guaranteed, he wants "guaranteed" prem footy plus wales is a **** hole (not my words, my welsh tutors words)
but which premiership team would take a punt on a championship striker? no-one apart from a relegation threatened team is going to even consider it in all honesty. bothroyd is twice the player that maynard is and he's struggling at QPR, its a big step up and thats why i doubt anyone will buy him plus, 6 league goals in 17 matches? i dont think that will set any PL managers pulse racing to say the very least!
i wouldnt say hes twice the player, tbh he didnt really score loads of goals till last season and then he died out, id have maynard over him any day, and everton are not a struggling side, neither are fulham
