Why are we proposing to spend 3.5 mill. on another RB, when Bruce clearly prefers a 3-5-2 formation and we already have Elmo, Lenihan, and Taylor for that role, and we desperately need a striker with a goal-scoring record in the Championship, which Gray clearly is, to partner Akpom/Jelavic, and he is available from Brentford for 7 mill????? Surely it would be better to lock up Gray rather than spend 3.5 mill. on a 4th RB. We havent had a fast goal scoring striker since Campbell and it was his link up with the experienced Windass that brought us our first promotion. With Gray reportedly on a 7k wage at Brentford we could clearly double or triple that to bring him here when Hernandez and his big wage packet goes to Torino. Gray could transform our striking threat and if Akpom fulfils his promise and Jelly stays and keeps fit we are going to be a team to be feared!!
Brentford board is now saying Odebajo is going to Newcastle. So that money should be available for the 7 mill. for Gray?
