I agree I don't think there'd be any issue whatsoever with his past because he was innocent. I didn't hear a word about it from our fans when he played against us.

We seem to have recruited players with good attitudes so far to create a professional environment. The facts of the case were he slept with a drunk girl who can’t remember it. I’ve done that ffs so am I a rapist? His career was in tatters due to an incorrect rape claim. This is true, but if I remember correctly, he had a full time girlfriend at the time and went out looking to shag some random nonetheless. Now, I know that's not necessarily unusual but it demonstrates clearly that he's a not a very nice bloke. While it wouldn't put me off us signing him and I'd cheer his goals and be pleased when he fired us to promotion, I could never accept him as a favourite or a club hero because he's been publically shown to be a tosser. Look at Niall Quinn- everyone loves him because he's a good bloke.
They're all at it as far as I'm concerned, seems to be part of the culture of being a footballer, if you can call it that. I bet even Quinn's got a few stories from his past along those lines that he'd rather never surfaced.
Oh yeah, undoubtedly but most of them manage to keep it out of the public eye. Or at least limited to rumours. The Evans story has been surrounded by bad publicity and I don't think that's good for the club. On here, opinion (based on those who have commented) appears to be split. Donald etc are trying very hard to get the fans back on board and I think signing him could be divisive. Look at the fuss over Di Canio, and all he did was make some comments about Mussolini that were taken out of context
He didnt quite 'pull' her. What I understand is that his footballer mate pulled her, took her back to a hotel and shagged her. His mate rang him and basically told him that there was a shag waiting for him at the hotel. So Evans left his girlfriend sneaked into the hotel, shagged her, then sneaked out. I think thats the jist. Correct me if im wrong.
