75% of fans oppose the use of VAR in the Premier League

So either scrap it and save £millions, or stop perpetuating the lie that fans matter to the Premier League.

Also that survey I suspect will suggest a more pro-VAR stance than is the reality from English fans and certainly match-going fans. Think they just put a link on Twitter for anyone to fill in so it’s going to be more skewed towards younger people and foreign fans than the reality of people actually attending.

Basically it’s ****. Admit the mistake and get rid.

Moving the deckchairs on the Titanic. The issues with VAR don’t go away because of this.
Agreed. There would still be marginal decisions but if you retained the perspective of the current rules then those marginal decisions would be less critical.

Personally I’d rather just go back to no VAR and accept that mistakes will happen but will even themselves out over time.

I tend to agree.
The whole concept of second-guessing / contradicting the referee (so undermining his authority) is flawed in my opinion.

He's a Human being, he will make the occasional mistake. As it has been for over 150 years in football.
Mistakes and learning from them is a part of life. Seeking to eliminate errors is a fool's errand.
And for what?
Because of the unnatural pressures that money has put on the game. The search for any excuse to pass the blame when a team loses.
Nobody likes to lose, but losing is as important as winning in Sport.
How you conduct yourself when you are defeated, how you take it, is an essential part of sportsmanship. It speaks volumes about your character.
