The 2 teams listed show how strong we are, but players get injured and tired so wouldn't say no to a new defender. Nigel is spoilt for choice up front. I favour Lambert and Connolly, but how to leave out Barney or Guly with Forte as fifth back-up. Mind you, NA makes timely and tactical changes so only Lambert tends to get through a game unchanged. Glad I'm not the manager as I'd field fifteen.
IMO we need 3 signings. I think we need a CB, ST and a back up winger. The CB and ST should be permanent deals, but the winger could be a loanee from somewhere as I find it hard to believe that we would sign anyone better than Oxo or Lallana.
Dont think the squad could handle another Midfielder? I'm hoping against hope that Holmes stays injury free for at least 3 games this season. The guy is class from what I have seen over the years. Sadly this has been minimal glimpses.
If, and its a big IF. Holmes manages to stay injury free then I would feel confident in the back up we have on the wings with him and Forte. But if Holmes follows his current pattern then we are only going to have 1 back up winger in Forte (and hes not really a winger imo), obviously others could play out wide (Dickson and Guly for example) but I would feel happier with a proper winger as backup. I suppose we should just wait and see and if Holmes gets a big injury then look to loan someone then.
