Would be very weird for BBC and Sky to report that he HAD handed in a request if he hadn't. Normally they use ****ty journo language like "Sources indicate that, it is understood that....." But no, they report he HAS handed in the request, so cant see it being wrong.
Man Utd will come in and try to extract some Pedro revenge very soon I see Stones going for silly money.
Its all according to sources. It could even be a little naughty Chelsea leak....who knows? A good indication woul dbe if he is in the squad/plays tonight
If he hadn't handed in a request you would expect the club and/or player to have confirmed that by now. All that's happening now is Everton are seeing if they can get a replacement. If not they would have rejected the transfer request like West Brom did with Berahino.
He has made himself availiable for tonights LC game and Martinez gave his thoughts in his presser yesterday saying he is not for sale. Seems strange that Stones would be open to play/nasty injury with his transfer request handed in?
Not sure what else he could say really. Could well be true but if they want the best price then I'd expected him to say nothing else.
You've made a bit of a leap there like. The club have no need to pass comment as it stands, they'll no doubt be talking to the player and seeing how his attitude is before making a definitive statement about his future. I'd expect their stance to be clarified after tonight's game.
Roberto says the transfer request will be rejected in the morning 22:47 EVERTON TO REJECT STONES REQUEST Roberto Martinez has now confirmed to the media that Everton will reject John Stones' transfer request in the morning.
They had to come out and say that, let's see if they're as good as their word on it, if £40m+ lands on the table. My gut says they'll probably stand firm now and he won't leave this window, but you can never be sure in this game. After last nights performance he looked like 40 quids worth lol.
I don't think we'll get him, and to be honest I'd rather we didn't shell out £40m+ The lad is very talented but it's a huge gamble for a CB.
We have nothing to gain on that deal. No time to get replacements in....unless thats what is happening now and even then they will be more expensive in comparison to Stones.
But Woods(director)said he is not for sale. So we dont have £40m to pass up....we risk losing £4m if he is not released from his contract. About time a club made a stand and take back the power of a contracct from agents
