I think everyone can agree that are depth is brilliant either way. Gary O'Neill played a lot of games for QPR last year. Is he even close to our first team? Certainly behind Howson I would say and possibly vadis.

    Ruddy
    Olssen, Hooiveld, Turner Martin
    Tettey, Vadis.
    Hoolahan
    Redmond Lafferty
    Hooper

    Reserve team
    Rudd
    Garrido, Cuellar, Bennett, Whitaker
Johnson, O Neil, Howson E. Bennett
    Grabban, Jerome

Obvious interchangeability and good to see options. My choices are not based on what I have seen so far so a little speculation!

Not mentioning Murphys, Loza, Ignasi and..............Bassong!

I think there's certainly room for some variation in that position, but I'd rather keep 2 players who at least nominally have holding responsibilities. Tettey and Johnson are better at the defensive side of the game, but I think in a similar role Howson and hopefully Vadis should be able to maintain most of the defensive solidity, but offer more when they join attacks. Whether Adams will play one of them alongside a more defensive holding midfielder, or possibly try both, will be interesting to see.

I think Johnson is the kind of player that managers like because they get on with their job quietly and unobtrusively and do the ugly stuff well. Fans tend not to rate that kind of player particularly highly. They generally go for the forward who scores, the tricky winger, or the creative maestro in midfield.

What is noticeable is that three very different managers - Lambert, Hughton, and now Adams - have made him a central part of their team. That surely must mean something?

For me Bradley Johnson has always been decent at breaking up play and graft. No question about his commitment either. The problem has been with the distribution/ quality side of his game. This season beside a Tettey he has looked better but is that because he is now at a level more suited to him? Why is it that he is a player that other clubs seem not interested in whereas someone like Tettey has? We have a lot of players who are very good at this level (Bradley Johnson, Russ Martin, Elliot Bennett....etc) but the Prem is more challenging of their ability.

    Ruddy,
    Martin, Turner, Hooiveld, Ollsson,
    Redman, Ofoe, Tetty, Grabban, Lafferty,
    Hooper.

Possibly my first choice team, but I will probably have changed my mind several times before the CPL for Cardiff

    ...............Ruddy..................
    Martin Turner Hooiveld Olsson
    ...............Tettey..................
    .........Howson Odjidja...........
    Redmond.................Grabban
    ...............Hooper..................

This would be my first team line up. I agree Johno has been magnificent this season but Tettey provides greater movement in that defensive area. Redmond to me always seems more effective when he is switched to the right and I think Grabban could be quite dangerous cutting in from the left.

That's exactly the team I'd go for Suffolk. In this league you'd hope we could really go for it in attacking terms and Tettey can provide that defensive cover.
