Yes you're right and all Stoke fans no matter what they say now they are thankful, but some of his team selections and decisions baffle everyone but himself!
I cannot believe any Premier League team playing its last game of the season in front of its home fans would do anything less than try to win. To suggest anything otherwise is probably daft. Good point about watching Latics fans celebrating last year... must have been galling for the home fans. Just 'cos they've never won on the last day of a PL season doesn't really mean anything. Statistics change.
We had West Brom and the Geordies celebrate promotion at our place recently, and it's bloody annoying.
I'm gobsmacked that the bookies have us at 1/3 to stay up (Bolton are 9/4). Of course Stoke will be hard to beat at home but i cant see what justifies these odds. I just wish i didn't have a heart and could bet with my head.
I suppose it's a reflection of the fact that as things stand, we stay up; we already have the points, Bolton have to earn them. Both sides are expected to lose, especially us!! The odds are more a reflection of the money placed on the outcomes rather than 'expert' bookmakers trying to predict the results.
Although my heart tells me this will not happen my head sadly agrees. Bolton will be well up for it and Stoke probably wont. City will be well up for it as well and they are obviously the best team in the league so getting a point is highly unlikely but we must try and not rely on Stoke
If Stoke play the way they did against us on Sunday then Bolton are going to find it hard to get a result, which is a good job because I can't see us getting anything up at Citeh. I'd like to get a win but sadly don't take enough drugs to believe it will happen. A draw would have to be the result of the decade on so many levels. I'd then hope Utd draw or lose to Sunderland and Citeh can still be champions without contributing to our relegation. After Ashley Young's dive we owe Utd absolutely nothing and even if we lose and go down there is a small shred of Schadenfreude that our loss means they don't win the title. On paper Bolton must be just ahead as a win at Stoke is more likely that our chances of a draw at Eastlands. My voice has just about returned after shouting when Cisse scored, maybe if he really thinks he still owes us he will stay on the pitch and keep up his scoring record. Up the R's!!!!!!!!
True! Wasnt everyone going on about Spurs never having won at the Reebok last week and look what happened. Surely Stoke will go for it. I just think Bolton may want it a bit more thoug, just like us on Saturday
Can't see Bolton keeping a clean sheet. They also beat Stoke 5-0 earlier this season so I would bank on Pulis wanting to set that one straight and our secret weapon in the form of Crouchie leads me to think Stoke will get the result which saves our skin...
Agreed about the Bookies, the odds are simply not realistic. Have a very bad feeling about the Stoke game, we seem to have acquired many enemies and Bolton may be considered a better investment in the league than us. Corruption? When we look back at the refereeing this season that question could be said to answer itself.
Stay in Friday and Saturday night - and stick 100 quid on us to go down as an Emotional Hedge on 9/4. Should we go down there's 325 quid to assuage the cost of the next season ticket.
